Look at how people walk - how they hold their shoulders and back, whether their heads are raised or lowered, whether they seem limp and listless, or stiff, whether they clumsily "throw" as they move, or walk lithely and energetically as if jumping, or do they rush, as if they had gone into battle, or do they glide elegantly, without any effort, looking harmonious and striking? Rarely will you see those moving like a ship on the high seas, among the crowd of the world that walks bent, bends, shakes hands, treads crookedly, staggers, or reluctantly drags.

Of course, you want to have a magnificent posture, like a queen, and look at the world from a height - and that has nothing to do with your height. You can be shorter than everyone around you, and still have a royal demeanor and leave the impression that you are the tallest in the room. It also has nothing to do with your dimensions and curves - you can be skinny and bony, or round and plump, and look equally graceful and impressive.

In addition to not looking nice and elegant, poor posture has a very negative effect on health. A lot of sitting at a desk, curving the spine in uncomfortable chairs and working positions, takes a toll after a while and your shoulders stiffen, your back hurts, your neck hurts, and because of that pressure chronic fatigue and headaches occur - poor posture prevents you from sitting. you breathe properly and limit the flow of oxygen to your body and brain.

How do you improve your posture and learn to take that royal stance?

Study your standing position

Observe your posture in the mirror. Position the mirror so that you can see nicely and pay attention to whether your shoulders are hunched and how your arms stand - if they are placed next to your body relaxed, with your palms towards your thighs, your posture is probably natural and you may only need minor adjustments. . But if your palms tend to turn back, you are probably "braking" your posture somewhere and you are inclined to bend. Now try to adjust your posture to the reputation of the photo models. Straighten your back, pull in your stomach and protrude your chest - this position will automatically push your shoulders back and you will look too exposed to yourself, but that is how self-confidence is exercised. Return to your usual position, then straighten up again, stretch and tuck your stomach in - you will notice the difference. And now pay attention to the difference in feeling - when you hold on as usual, you seem "flattened" and "withered", and when you straighten up, lively. Fix your mood and raise your energy level by improving your posture. When you act energetic and stable, that's how you will feel.

Adjust your way of sitting

Assess your sitting position - it is very likely that you are sitting incorrectly and that your spine is loaded in the middle or upper part. You may be leaning to one side, trying to take the most comfortable position in an uncomfortable chair. Find a better chair, and that is the one on which you can sit relaxed with evenly distributed weights - this means that you should sit with your whole buttocks, as if you have a tail on it, which should hang relaxed and move freely. Keep your feet full on the floor (and your heels, not just your toes), your back straight. Remember to adjust the position from time to time by imagining a non-existent tail and check if you may be sitting on it and restraining it in free swing. Test whether it is more comfortable for you if you put a hard pad to "head" your lumbar part and check if your computer (because you are probably sitting in front of the monitor) is at the right height. This means that it should be about the length of the arm, and at eye level, so that you do not have to raise or turn your head, or bend your neck too much.

Stretch regularly

Sitting for a long time certainly affects your posture and after a few hours you will probably "slip" and twist, so get up and stretch for a few minutes. Place your palms over your buttocks and push your pelvis forward while pulling your shoulders back. Gather your shoulders as if you want to fold your wings in front and behind you, alternately. Put your hands on your hips, spread your legs and stretch several times to one side and the other, alternately. Stretch, raise your arms and climb on your toes, bend back and forth. This will encourage circulation and you will be able to stay for a while longer, until you feel that sitting is hard for you again. Then get up again, take a walk, stretch. Do this several times during the working day, so you will avoid braking and pain in the neck and shoulders.

Walk energetically

You are probably in a hurry all the time, so when you walk, you bend forward a little and take the biggest possible steps, as if trying to get your head through the goal. Correct your movement - take that upright and sprawling position and move in smaller steps. Do not wave your arms as if you were rowing, let them move freely next to your body, let your hips move naturally, do not brake your legs and back. Move relaxed and lively - try to imitate a person whose posture and movement seem natural, relaxed and energetic.

Practice

Strengthening your muscles will definitely help you improve your posture, and practicing yoga or some form of dance will help you a lot. Half of good posture is in self-awareness and self-confidence, and exercise that refreshes the movements will help you develop them.
