Apply these methods to your life to love yourself

We put a lot of effort into maintaining and toning our bodies, developing our careers, fixing our relationships, meeting our financial goals. But what are you doing to love yourself, accept yourself for who you are and show yourself compassion? The more complete and fulfilled we feel as individuals, the more we have to offer to those around us and to the world.

To feel energized, get enough sleep, practice yoga or another sport, stock your fridge with healthy food, drink enough water and make time for fun, adventure or relaxation. Make self-care a routine.

If you are feeling tense and anxious, you can use these techniques to release your negative emotions and find inner peace. Approach yourself as you would a friend or loved one.

We spend most of our lives concerned with our titles, our roles, our earnings. We try to understand who we are by defining our successes and failures, our relationship status, our position at work, our bank account or our social status. But who we really are is hidden much deeper. No matter what life is like, there is a soul inside us that is much more beautiful, peaceful and deserves to be loved. Connect with this spirit, your essence. Meditation or yoga, journaling or getting lost in something you love can help you do this.

Our inner voice can be critical or overbearing. When we talk to ourselves, we use harsh words that we would never say to others. Approach yourself as you would a friend or loved one. Be kind and gentle with yourself, especially in times of fear, tension or pain. Encourage yourself and enjoy the good times. When you need to make a decision, ask yourself: What would I advise a loved one to do?

When we suppress what comes from our nature or try to ignore our wants and desires, we cause ourselves pain. But we are all unique beings. Someone like you will never be born again. You were sent into this world to offer your unique qualities. Allow your unique spirit because that is what makes you powerful.

Don't fight with yourself when someone makes you angry or hurts you or when you wake up in the morning feeling unwell for no reason. Instead, try to understand that feeling. Treat it with patience, love and understanding, realizing that it is not your own and that it will pass soon. Allow your authentic spirit because that is what makes you strong.

Be grateful for what you have instead of focusing on what is wrong with you. Energy flows wherever you put your attention. So if you direct your attention to positive things, your energy will flow in a positive direction. Also remember that your body is just a cover for your soul. Love it, have fun with it, take care of it and thank it for the wonderful things it gives you. But don't invest everything in your appearance. You are not just the body you have, you have a soul.

We are all human, we can make mistakes, we can learn from our experiences. Realize that you are not the only one who feels vulnerable, insecure or critical. We all struggle with ourselves to do our best. The more you remember this, the less pressure you feel and the less alone you will feel.
