This weekend was very varied, on the one hand we worked, that was the main objective of this trip to our home in Higuerote. For those who do not know this area, Higuerote belongs to the Mirandina coast, an area of beach, heat, drums and Venezuelan flavor.  

A few days ago we left my sister installed there to do some things, like every house needs care, it seems unbelievable but human warmth is important for a house not to fall apart. This area does not escape from the reality of our country, here the water fails a lot and if you want to have the vital liquid you have to pay a tanker truck to take the water to fill the tanks.

For a long time we wanted to do this but between one thing and another we had not been able to, to give you an idea I can tell you that a large tanker truck costs between $40 to $50, we bought half a tank and paid $25. With this water already at home we started to do a series of works that the house needs, starting by placing the water gutters, this work has a double meaning, first to protect the walls from so much rain and second to collect all that water in water troughs, pots and later we want to buy a tank to store as much water as possible and if possible by means of a pump to raise that same water to fill the main tank. For now we are half way there, but we are happy because after so long we are finally starting.

When we arrived at the house we got a very nice surprise, the cat of the house a few days ago had three kittens, all very cute and healthy. I liked the gray cat but my husband liked the white one because it has spectacular blue eyes, my sister tells me that the third of these cats was taken by a neighbor.  We had been looking for a cat to adopt for a long time and now that these kittens have arrived I think I am going to keep the white one to take home.

As much as I tried to take a picture of my white cat so they could see the beautiful color of his eyes he didn't want to be photographed, I think he is antisocial, I had to chase him all over the garden until I got a half good picture, the only way they stayed still was when their mother was feeding them.

While the day continued its course, my sister and I went to take care of the plants, there you have to do everything quickly, before noon because then the direct sun rays hit and that is not good, so we took the opportunity to plant some bushes that were already to be transplanted.

Then we went to cook a delicious lunch to give to all the men who were working hard and tirelessly since early in the morning.

In the afternoon when the sun went down my sister and I continued our work towards the front of the house, while I painted the fence, she painted the white walls. My children also collaborated by painting the entire wall blue. Step by step everything took shape and that is what I want to highlight the most on this day, the organization, the respect for each other's ideas, the commitment and in the end a beautiful result.

The blue color of the wall stands out a lot, I would like to put it to the other external walls of the house, I know it is not easy but not difficult, when one proposes things and dreams with real desire can be achieved; to give you an idea of the cost of a two gallon pot of rubber paint blue, a quart of oil paint for the fence and a brush the cost was $30.

As my grandmother used to say, a house never stops asking, so we have to continue, I always tell my husband that since we can't do big things to the house like a pool, the best thing we can do is to keep what the house already has. I pray to God that the circumstances of the water improve, with respect to that tea I do not want to delve too much because otherwise I would get into politics and that is something that causes much discomfort, but there are promises to install a new pipe that carries water in more and better proportions.

With the night comes the "sancudos", so everyone goes into the house, some to rest, others to watch TV, take a bath and the men love to have a drink while they tell their stories and play a game of dominoes.
