The Santa Catalina de Alejandria Church, a Roman Catholic church in Luna, La Union, is also known as The Santa Catalina de Alejandria Church. The church was founded in 1690 and is where the Blessed Virgin Mary's wooden picture may be found. It is under the patronage of Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
Our Lady of Namacpacan is the official name for the venerated figure, which is also known as "Apo Baket" in the local community. The image is credited with a number of miracles, and it attracts a large number of devotees and Marian followers. The figure of the patroness of Ilocano travelers rises at 6 feet and 4 inches tall, making it the country's tallest known statue of its kind.
The structure is a National Cultural Treasure of the Philippines. The Namacpacan Church is an Earthquake Baroque church, a style of architecture that emerged in the country as a response to the devastating effects of earthquakes on numerous Luzon structures during the Spanish colonial period, from the 17th to 18th centuries. Buttresses and high walls, a ceremonial entrance, rounded pediments, and a white facade typical of Baroque style may all be seen in this church.
