Terrible false security
After the end of World War II, the Royal Air Force counted the fighters and pilots killed in the war, as well as the causes and locations of aircraft crashes. The results were shocking - it was not enemy fire or nature's storms that claimed the most lives, but pilot error. What is even more puzzling is that the most frequent period of accidents is not during the intense firefight, nor during the emergency evacuation, but in the minutes before landing after returning from a mission.
Psychologists were not surprised by the results, which they said were typical psychological phenomena. After a high level of stress, once the external stimuli have disappeared, the human mind will have an "almost irrepressible tendency to relax." The pilot is highly concentrated in the enemy's gunfire, although the external environment is harsh, but because the brain is in extreme excitement, it is not easy to make mistakes.
On the way home, the pilot's spirit became more and more relaxed, and when he finally saw the familiar base and his plane was getting closer to the runway, he suddenly felt safe. However, it was precisely this moment of relaxation that led to disaster. This is why people call this state "false security".
On the road of life, there are also many "false security". When you have overcome obstacles and success is within reach, don't let your guard down and slow down your pace.
Lesson: The terrible truth of "false security" tells us that people often fail not in the most difficult times, but in the most relaxed times. The victory is assured, but if the spirit is relaxed, problems will ensue, and even lead to complete failure.
