My parents had to moved to East kurrajong and we lived in one end of their house for nearly two years before moving to Glossodia. Matthew was born in 1989 and brought great joy into our lives. We continued to serve at Lansvale, the three of us travelling one hour each way three times a week for church youth group and mid-week bible study.
Robyn had quit working for the commonwealth bank just before Matthew was born, and I continued to work in the computer industry , utilising a talent and a passion I inherited from my father. Jessica was born in 1991 and Robyn then had her hands full. Around this time the landsvale assembly closed, and the people of our first spiritual home moved on to take up service at other assemblies. We made the decision to join the growing church at River stone, which was meeting in the local high school. The church grew and the GLO training centre and eventually the church complex were built, along with the sporting facility. I continued my work in the computer industry, gaining great satisfaction and a reasonable income from this employment. Our family was also expanding with the addition of Timothy in 1995.
Gradually a new calling began to emerge as we spent more time with people, and took on pastoral care and counselling. This eventually led to giving marriage celebrant in 1997 . The lord had begun a work in our hearts and gave us a passion for people; to help them find the lord and grow in knowledge and love for him . The satisfaction which I derived from fixing computers began to fade and was replaced with a satisfaction from helping people instead. We had many opportunities to share the gospel with children, teenagers and adults and I gained experience in preaching.
In January 1998 we were asked by Ian and Robyn to co-direct a Teen Camp along with our friends Stuart and Tara. This camped turned into a night, however in the lord's typically gracious way there were two wonderful outcomes. Firstly many teenagers lives were changed for all eternity, and secondly we were both challenged to wholehearted service for Him. It became apparent that our current our level of commitment was far short of God's calling in our lives and we left camp with a new heart for service.
The night we arrived home we began a process of fasting and prayer to open ourselves to God. Just two months earlier our church had formulated a role for full time worker to assist in evangelism, administration and pastoral care.
