Why Obesity is common in Children?
Children Obesity is defined child having above or at body mass index (BMI) as compared to their age or sex. The prevalence of obesity increased by 8.4% in 2014. Obesity is influenced by a number of factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activities, limited education about health, and hormonal problems. In the last 30 years, obesity increased day by day, and its percentage are relatively high among the Latino and black cultures. The market food targets children and teenagers attract to junk food. Due to the emergence of technology children and teenagers attain a healthier lifestyle. The unique and family-centered approach is a multidisciplinary pediatric approach. Obesity leads to many diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, and psychological and neurological diseases. Child obesity is overcome in a number of ways such as engagement of family, a multidisciplinary approach, addressing cultural norms, and technology. For a healthier life different prescriptions should be kept in mind such as sleeping for about 8 to 12 hours, never missing breakfast, using fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy food, and doing some physical activities. Different treatment options are now available in the pediatric population with help of behavioral changes and diet modification
