The behavior of the herd comes from the animal herd behavior; this behavior depends on the dangerous situation like an escape from the predator. Animals move in a unite, they walk closely together in form of a group in a panic situation. The herd is the behavior in which a large number of people act in the same way and at the same time.

Herd behavior is frequent behavior in panic and dangerous situations for example if a building gets a fire, all the people from the building escape in hustle and bustle. People in a critical situation move faster compare to the people in a normal situation because due to the emotional movement of an emergency situation people try to escape from the situation and join the crowd. Another example of a human herd is the large stock market bubble, where a large number of people often visited to buy and sell the products. If there is a sale on any product or any shop, people often come in form of the crowd. Sports events also lead to the development of herd behavior on a violent scale. Human herd behavior also occurs in dense mobs and the public crowd. The gatherings of the crowd are due to any protest or any grievance, and protest can be violent due to herd behavior. The mindset of any group can take over the mob and they behave in a way they would not do independently, leading to an increase in the likelihood of the situation becoming intense.

Herd behavior also helps for the decision making, for example, if you’re looking for the restaurants in rows, the one restaurant that is crowded help to make a decision that is restaurant provides good and quality food as compared to the restaurants which one is not crowded because a crowd of people shows that people like the food and services of the restaurant.
