Difference Between CV and resume

The CV and resume are the most important document; it is the first impression of the person in a job interview or in the application process. The term resume is an ideal document applied for the target job. It is a short, one-page document, that helps to make stand up in the list of the competitors. In a resume, not all things need to be detailed only the details and experience about the relevant position you're applied for it. It should be customizable so you can use it for every job position. But the term CV is a document containing detailed information about life work and education. It consists of a detailed list of academic achievements and experiences.

THE FIVE C'S of CV

Different items must be included in the CV such as bio section, profile, education, work experience, volunteer experience, honors awards, certificates, skills, and interest. The five C’S of an effective CV are, clear, complete, concise, consistent, and current. In CV must avoid the article a, an, the and first-person. Using the bullet points helps to attract the reader, bullet points are used to define what u did and what’s skilled we gained from each experience. Putting many bullets in any section seeks the attention of the reader for a longer time. Every line or bullet point started from a well-chosen action verb, and spend time choosing the most attractive and specific verbs to start every point. The bullet points must be constant and don’t end in periods. The formatting is also important in the CV-making process, as education, majors, companies, and job title must be bold while the date and location must be in italics format. The CV is not the same for all jobs, so we should update our CV according to job requirements. In all countries, the format and style of CV are different so applying in different countries so should modify the CV according to their requirements. Therefore it is an important aspect regarding to our career achievements.

HOW IT HELPS IN APPLICATION TRACKING SYSTEM?

The application tracking system is used to track applicants for their respective jobs or scholarship, it shows the pool of applications and highlights the top applicants. Many companies use the applicant tracking system to select or shortlist candidates. Therefore, if the company is hiring an administrative manager, so use the filter CV in finds the candidates having relevant and previous experience in this field. To beat the Application Tracking System, it is important to change or modify the CV for each position, carefully understand the job posting and use keywords in your CV, traditional font must be used, use of header and footer must be prohibited because it loses the information sometimes, don’t overstuff the information and be realistic.
