El Nido, located in the Palawan Island is often referred to as Philippines' last frontier. It is known for its white-sand beaches and coral reefs.

It is the primary base for the Palawan Islands star attraction Bacuit Archipelago - A group of islands with steep karst cliffs.

The most popular activity in El Nido is to go island hopping either in a private boat or as part of a tour group. And the diving off the coast is amazing as well. If you’re not on a boat, you’ll be lounging on one of the many beautiful beaches nearby. Many of the restaurants are open-air and offer beautiful views of the sea during sunset.

Island hoping tours are regulated and standardized. You can expect to choose from 4 options - Tour A, Tour B, Tour C and Tour D. Make sure you do at least two island hopping tours and one of them needs to be Tour B or Tour D. A and C are great but can be popular and crowded. Tour B and D are both awesome, just different and not as grand scale in the attractions the offer.

Taraw Peak in El Nido is one of the best viewpoints in the Philippines. A 30 minute hike before sunrise will be the most rewarding part of your trip. A definite must do if you are a thrill seeker and not afraid of heights. .

If you just want to chill out and take it easy hire a kayak from El Nido Town and explore Cadlao Island at your own pace without the craziness of the island-hopping crowds.

🕐 The best time to visit is from November to May. Depending on the time of year that you visit El Nido, you may encounter massive amounts of rain or even a typhoon (if you happen to get really unlucky) will ruin your plans and leave you with not much to do in the town.
