If there is one dish that is not on our table on New Year’s Eve, it is chicken and it is because of the beliefs of the elders about the lifestyle of this fowl that can cause bad luck. Isang kahig, isang tuka (one scratch, one peck) which they associate with less fortunates who live from hand to mouth. I usually don't believe in superstitions because our destiny depends on Him and how we try to earn a living and work hard to reach our goals and dreams but as they say 'walang mawawala kung susunod' (you have nothing to lose if you follow it). Anyway, here is our lunch since we miss fried chicken but no one is in the mood to cook today. We also ordered burger steak with fries. I haven't added the sauce when I took the picture so it looks sad. 🤣 Enjoy your lunch!

Your foods are incredible 🤑. I also don't believe in superstitions anymore because the bible said so... God is our ultimate planner, everytime is His time, He is in everywhere, anywhere.
I read that it is not recommended to eat everything that has wings, so that happiness does not fly away from the house. What about those animals that have legs? They can also run out of the house haha
I see. For us, we had pinikpikan few days ago... Hehe. Oh, we don't have that belief in here... So it was okay to cook chicken. Anyway, enjoy your food. Yum yum.
