Have you ever used a food delivery app to place orders so you can order any food item of your choice? I am pretty sure you have a food delivery app in your country wherever you are reading this from. If you are someone who wants to create a food delivery app wherever you are in the world, then here are features that you should consider adding to you app:
A review system: A review system is a feature that should be on every food delivery app. This feature allows users to leave reviews for any order they place on the app. Reviews are important so that the customer can know whether or not that ordering from a food vendor or restaurant on the food delivery app is a good choice for them. Without a review system, the customer cannot know whether or not that the food item they order is suitable for them.
The list of ingredients that food item has: This is another important feature that should be added on any food delivery app. Having this feature increases the transparency that that food delivery service has. It can tell customers whether or not that they should order that certain food item. Some customers may have allergic reactions when it comes to certain food items and this is due to the ingredients used. Some customers may not even have a preference for certain food items as well because of the ingredients and this is why this is a very important feature.
The ability for the customer to contact the food vendor/restaurant inside the app: This is a feature that should be on every food delivery app. This feature will allow customers to reach out to the restaurant or vendor on the app and will allow that customer to give feedback on the service as well as make special orders with the restaurant or vendor.
A feature that lets a customer order food for a friend or family member: This is a feature that should be implemented on food delivery apps. This feature will allow a customer to place an order for a friend or family member who does not have the app installed on their phone. If for example, a customer wants to surprise his friend will some lunch, they can simply place an order on the app, input their friend’s phone number and address and then they can now deliver to that person without them needing to have the app.
A built in wallet: This is a feature that really should be on these types of apps. This feature basically let’s the customer fund money into the app and they can pay for anything they want on the app to without using their cards or their banks to initiate a payment every single time they order. This can help a customer budget what they want to order.
Discounts and promos: With a discount and promo feature, it can incentivize customers to use the app even more and refer the app to more people. If the app offers free delivery for time to time or a discount on certain food items on the app, then customers will use the app even more and it can increase revenue as well.
A tracking feature: This in my opinion is the most essential thing a food delivery app should have. This feature benefits all the parties involved when it comes to food delivery which are the customer, the delivery drivers and the business owner. For the customer, it benefits them because they can see the real-time location of their food order and know the status of their order. It benefits the drivers because they can easily know where the location of the customer is and it benefits the business owner because they can see what is going on in real time and can rectify anything that goes wrong during the order.
