Following the site wide attack on the social media platform, Twitter has apparently done this as a preventive measure to stop future giveaway scam.

at least one popular account known for sharing address information — WhaleAlerts — has now said that it can't post its messages to Twitter.

Not only real addresses are blocked, cryptography hashes seems to have suffered from the ban as well, probably due to the likeness as crypto address.

What ways do you think would Twitter giveaway scammers circumvent this block?

I have no idea about this. But I hope, it will be fixed as soon as possible. 😞

That's a good preventive measure. How much was the total scammed BTC? The last I know was around 12 BTC.
