,, Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, "that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great." And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.”
Rev. 19: 17-21
"And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly under the sky, Come and gather yourselves together for the great supper of God, to eat the flesh of kings, horses and those who sit on them, and meat from all free and slaves, both small and large. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their soldiers gathered together to fight against him that sat upon the horse, and against his armies.
In the Bible we find two dinners and that is the supper of the wedding of the Lamb and the second is the supper of God. These two suppers are very different and it is not the same supper present at the supper of God, and we will see what that means during the study of today's verses.
Here we have a description of the final battle of "heaven and earth" at the end of the great tribulation, and the prophet Zechariah writes about this:
,, Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.”
Zechariah 14: 1-4
As human history draws to a close, Jerusalem will become more attractive and the Antichrist and his followers will gather around Jerusalem.
,, "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. "And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”
Zechariah 12: 2-3
During this time, the prophet Joel prophesied.
,, Assemble and come, all you nations, and gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord. "Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow--for their wickedness is great." Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness. The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”
Joel 3: 11-16
We have seen in the sixteenth chapter that the Antichrist, Satan, and the false prophet release from their mouths their three unclean spirits with this purpose:
,, For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”
Rev. 16:14
The nations of the world together with the Antichrist will come to destroy God's city and earth, but then Jesus Christ will appear from heaven and they will try to make war with Him and with His "armies".
"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their soldiers gathered together to fight against him that sat upon the horse, and against his armies."
This is simply unimaginable how deceitful it will be when the Antichrist and the false prophet succeed in convincing their "subjects" to wage war against God, ie against the Lord Jesus Christ and His "army".
Maybe the Antichrist and the false prophet will convince people that an alien civilization is coming to invade the earth and that now everyone is obliged to defend the earth, of course this is not written in the bible but since today we have many stories and movies about alien invasion it may be a recipe will deceive people.
Whatever they come up with, their end is terrible because it says:
,, "You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. "Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.”
Daniel 2: 34-35
This stone is the Lord Jesus Christ and He will strike the Antichrist and his armies and "crush" them, ie complete destruction, and immediately afterwards he writes:
"And the beast was caught, and with him a false prophet who made signs before him by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and who worshiped its icon: they would both be thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with sulfur."
and this is now the final end of the drama on earth, this is the time when the "seed of the woman" crushes the seed of the serpent no matter what his followers will once say about the Antichrist
,, So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"”
Rev. 13: 4
Well, on this occasion, they will see Who "can make war against him" and Who "can throw the Antichrist and the false prophet into the lake of fire."
The false prophet will work great miracles and the Antichrist will "pretend and act like a god" and will probably think that he is indestructible and that no one can do anything to him but sin will appear:
,, King of kings and Lord of lords”
Rev. 19:16
and "And the beast would be caught," who is the leader, embodied by Satan and the false prophet with no problem because they are caught alive, "regardless of probably their security measures, bodyguards or guards" we read:
"They were both thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with sulfur."
They will come to the end of "their story" and be thrown alive into the lake of fire and they will be the first inhabitants of the lake of fire, they will work so much against God that they will be thrown into the lake of fire even before Satan.
We saw their end and for the other soldiers it says:
"And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat on the horse, which came out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."
And their end will be terrible, many would say incredible, but God's Word says so and so it will be, and the prophet Zechariah writes about it:
,, And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.”
Zechariah 14:12
Finally, let's go back to the beginning of the verses we studied today where it says:
"And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly under the sky, Come and gather yourselves together for the great supper of God, to eat the flesh of kings, horses and those who sit on them, and meat from all free and slaves, both small and large. "
John probably did not see the wedding of the Lamb, nor this war because he describes them very little, but he saw an angel inviting all the birds to come to the "feast" of those who fought so hard against the Lord. We see that their pride will not remain. nothing "except that it will become food for the birds. This is what the Lord Jesus meant when he said:
,, "For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”
Mt.24: 28
and in our text it says:
"And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat on the horse, which came out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."
And this is a terrible dinner of God, and no one should attend it, but all those who do not want to accept the invitation for the wedding of the Lamb will be present at this dinner, and we have seen how it will end. We have records in the Bible to understand what awaits the unbelieving world and this land, and to act wisely and accept the invitation to the wedding of the Lamb while the invitation is still in progress.
