,, And upon her forehead [was] a name written, mystery, babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth.”
Rev. 17: 5
Last time we talked about the "system" or spirit of "Babylon" that spread to the world at that time and how it affected the people of Israel, and now let's see what happened after the ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. On Pentecost, God establishes His Church and the spirit of "Babylon" continues to live on and secretly works slowly against the Church, the pure Gospel and the only savior of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church began to spread and here is what the Lord Jesus says to the Church of Pergamum:
,, I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, [even] where Satan's seat [is]: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas [was] my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.”
Rev. 2:13
We see that the Lord Jesus himself says that Satan lives there, which means that the Babylonian religion has adapted, transformed in order to oppose the Gospel of God in the best way. Here is what is written in the letter to the Church of Thyatira:
,, Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.”

There was a lot of persecution and problems in those times, and the situation when Emperor Constantine "became a Christian" slowly calmed down, but the Babylonian religion was already deeply rooted in Christianity and in time left deep roots in the world, so that today the influence of religion on nations is clearly visible. .Today we are working on a project of a super ecumenical church that will bring peace and justice to the world, but those who work on that idea have deviated far from the original truths of Scripture. The need for the only savior Lord Jesus Christ is slowly waning so that some other paths enter the faith. they lead to god and in fact it is about the "Babylonian religion" which fights against the Truth in such a way that it offers something other than the real truth. In the twenties of the last century they began to realize their ideas and before the Second World War a temporary ecumenical alliance was formed. During the war, an ecumenical alliance was formed in the same year when the state of Israel was born. Instead of personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, mass conversions and social work are increasingly being propagated under the pretext that people should be loved and that people should be helped, while forgetting the sin that flourishes in various forms. This is done systematically and slowly. Biblical fences and the "Babylonian" tower is being built more and more, which will unite the world's religions, and that was actually the dream of Nimrod and Semiramis, which proves that the "Babylonian religion" never stopped but adapted to various conditions and the culmination of deception will be in great trouble. and even today Satan deceives many through verses:
,, That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:”
John 17: 21-22
Based on these verses, they advocate "organization" and justify their plans, and this is actually about the spiritual unity of the newborns and not about the super ecumenical church.
The dream of "Babylon" should be realized in the ecumenical church, and that will be in the Church of the Antichrist, which will be in opposition to the Church of Christ, and we see from Revelation that Babylon will again be the commercial and political center of the world.
Ancient Babylon was destroyed by prophecy:
,, A sword [is] upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise [men]. A sword [is] upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword [is] upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed. A sword [is] upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that [are] in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword [is] upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed. A drought [is] upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it [is] the land of graven images, and they are mad upon [their] idols. Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell [there], and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation. As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour [cities] thereof, saith the Lord; [so] shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.”
Jeremiah 50: 35-40
,, And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in [their] pleasant palaces: and her time [is] near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.”
Isa.13: 19-22
Today, Babylon is not destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah, Babylon was captured by the Midianites, later Alexander the Great wanted to make Babylon his capital, but he died early, Jews lived there in the time of the Church because Peter wrote the letter from Babylon.
,, The [church that is] at Babylon, elected together with [you], saluteth you; and [so doth] Marcus my son.”
1 Peter 5:13
In the twelfth century, Muslims built several mosques there and later the city of Hilah was built and this is proof that the prophecies of Jeremiah and Isaiah have not yet been fully fulfilled but the final destruction will be on the Lord's Day at the end of great tribulation and this is described in Revelation 18. ,,
"And after this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having a great field; and the earth shone with his glory. And he cried with a loud voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and a prison for every unclean spirit, and a prison for all unclean and hateful birds; for he has made all nations drunk with the poisonous wine of his fornication.
Rev. 18: 1-2
,, And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”
Rev. 18:10
,, …Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.”
Rev. 18:21
This has not yet been fulfilled, but the prophecies related to Babylon will surely be fulfilled, as well as other prophecies that have not yet been fulfilled because the time has not yet come. They will be fulfilled because God said so and in Luke we can read that God said the following:
,, Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”
Luke 21:33
And finally, let us end with the call that God is giving us while we still have time so that the evils that are written about in Revelation do not reach us.
,, And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
