Good afternoon to all, the weather's unpredictable nowadays especially if you happen to live in an island like me, lol, then you also happen to live in a low area or low land area then there's a heavy rain and before you knew it, there's already a floods just outside your house, somehow getting used with this kind of thing as it used to happen especially if the rain's so heavy and didn't stop. The images i used or uploaded here are from Google same thing with the content or what's my article from today have or consists, this idea came 'coz i saw this one on Palawan Pawnshop when i went there this morning.
There are 5 Types of Floods and it's down below:
Flash Flood- It's a rapid flooding of low-lying areas caused by heavy rain.
Coastal Flood- It normally occurs when dry and low-lying land is submerged by seawater.
Urban Flood- Normally caused by excessive runoff in developed areas where the water doesn't have anywhere to go.
River or Fluvial Flood- Usually occurs or happens when a river overspills in its banks, that is, when its flow can no longer be contained within its channel.
Ponding or Pluvial Flood- Normally or used to happened in relatively flat areas. Rain water falling in an area is normally stored in the ground, in canals or lakes, or is drained away, or pumped out.
In order to avoid having flood or floods in our areas or places, we should do or take measures of the following flood prevention or steps on how to prevent from having it and it's below:
Create a Sponge City.
Green Roofs/Rooftop Gardens.
Create Flood Plains and Overflow areas for Rivers.
Separating Rainwater from the Sewer System.
Install Water Infiltration and Attenuation Systems.
Keep the Sewer System clean, so it can do its job.
Sustainable Drainage, Permeable Pavement, Sidewalks and Gardens.
Hope for the best, Plan for the Worst.
Improve Flood Warning Mechanisms.
Take Action.
Plant some trees especially Bakawan as it's one who literally prevents floods.
