“Darken – to make dark, to make less clear or obscure, taint or tarnish.” – Merriam-Webster Dictionary
I’ve recently read an online article from a Bitcoin SV (BSV) proponent. It has a pretty short and straight to the point title: BSV has already won.
Quite the claim, doesn’t it?
To say that BSV has already won against BTC, ETH, and pretty much all cryptocurrency in existence is a pretty bold claim indeed. Oh right, should I also mention that he didn’t even consider BCH as an opponent of BSV?
Yeah, he’s that confident of BSV.
In the whole article, BCH was mentioned only twice.
Why do I think that this was important?
Because it’s very clear to me that the author of the article was implying that BCH is nothing and doesn’t deserved to be mentioned in the same vein as BTC, ETH, and BSV despite BSV being just a fork of the original BCH.
He’s trying to obscure the presence of BCH – to darken BCH, thus making it less important. Hence, the word ‘darkening’ in the title.
For him, only BTC and ETH were BSV’s opponents. Correction, they’re no longer opponents. After all he’s claiming that BSV already “won” the cryptocurrency war. And as for other cryptocurrencies? Pshew! Not worth the mention.
“We have already won, and anyone wasting their time trying to find efficiency elsewhere is just burning money that will eventually make its way to BSV anyways.” – BSV fanboy & author.
In his own words, blockchain developers are just wasting time and money to even try to compete with BSV’s “flawless” system. Anything other people try would just benefit BSV in the end.
I swear. This guy’s pretty close to building a temple for BSV and worshipping it as his deity.
Even BTC maximalists are not as bad as this guy. At the very least, they would try to be civil while defending their point of view. The author of the aforementioned article on the other hand has nothing but utter contempt and complete disregard of other cryptocurrencies.
Also, somehow, I’m reminded of Craig Wright when I read his article. Was it because they’re singing the same tune?
Of course, I’m not saying that he’s Craig Wright. It’s just that they share the same utter contempt for other cryptocurrencies aside for the cryptocurrency they’re shilling: BSV.
I even remember reading somewhere that Craig Wright wanted to sue other cryptocurrencies that’s wasn’t Bitcoin and BSV. I mean, he does claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto, right?
Now that I think about it, I hear nothing about that lawsuit…
I guess, he didn’t go with it or the court completely trashes the lawsuit… I think it’s the latter.
BCH is still the Better Cryptocurrency
Despite the author’s bold claim that BSV had already won the cryptocurrency war; the truth of the matter is… It didn’t.
He touted that BSV is the perfect balance of security, speed, and ease of use that cannot be re-engineered or broken without dire consequences.
Hmm… I think I heard the same description of another cryptocurrency. Right! BCH is like that too!
*Shock Pikachu face*
Yes, the advantages that BSV has? BCH had them too!
Do you guys understand now why the author did his best to ‘darken’ or obscure the presence of BCH in his article?
The answer is actually very simple: There’s nothing that BSV can offer that BCH cannot.
The fact that BCH has bigger market shares and more investors than BSV was a testament that BCH is the better cryptocurrency of the two. After all when the original BCH forked, many investors choose to trust BCH instead of BSV.
The fact that most major exchanges supported BCH and not BSV is another proof that BCH is the better cryptocurrency.
Despite the constant shilling of BSV proponents, majority of investors still chooses BCH over BSV.
Why? Because BCH is the better cryptocurrency.
But… I’ll give the guy some slack and be fair here.
I think that BSV is not a bad cryptocurrency per see. On the contrary, I think it’s a good cryptocurrency with real case use like BCH.
BSV’s vision was not bad as well, and might have garnered more supporters if not for Craig Wright’s greed and questionable actions.
It’s also fine for BSV proponents to shill for their favorite coin. Just don’t go running around while claiming that other cryptocurrencies are nothing but shit in front of BSV’s “greatness.”
Also, don’t go around claiming that BSV had won the cryptocurrency war because no cryptocurrency had truly won yet. Not BTC, not ETH, not BCH, and definitely not BSV.
And lastly, don’t treat BCH as if it doesn’t exist. That’s because no matter how much some people wished for it, BCH won’t go anywhere and is here to stay.
My Thoughts
I’ve read many articles shilling BSV but none was as bad as the article I mentioned in this post. Sure, many of those articles also tried to dismiss BCH while uplifting BSV but at least those articles are not trying to deny BCH’s existence.
Like I’ve said, BSV is a good cryptocurrency but not any better to BCH.
If you want to claim that BSV was the real winner, then you must provide proof to support your claim and not just empty claims about things that might or might now happen like global-scale businesses choosing only BSV (after the bear market that would suck away speculative assets) because it’s the only viable option left.
No matter how the market plays out, BSV will never be the only option.
That’s just not how things work in real life.
Even in the scenario that BSV would remain as the last cryptocurrency standing, it will never be the only option.
Why? That’s because other much better cryptocurrencies would emerge in the ashes of the fallen.
How many cryptocurrencies had fallen over the year? Plenty.
But after their fall, others emerged and took their place.
The same thing will happen in the unlikely scenario that BSV defeated all other cryptocurrency in the market.
What do you guys think?
