I was lucky, and in my life I rode in a horse-drawn carriage like this. It was a long time ago. We were visiting, in the winter in Krasno polje. Lika. The children were small, there was a lot of snow, no traffic and we had to return to Zagreb. The only one nearby was the bus station in Otočac. Grandpa had horses and a cart, and, nothing. Grandpa harnessed the horses and so we traveled 28 kilometers. An unforgettable experience. I’m sorry my kids don’t remember because they were small. Wrapped in blankets, horses are racing, through the hills, the whiteness of the snow, the woods. Truly memorable. This photo reminded me of that. By the way, Krasno is one of our largest mountain settlements, located on the northern slopes of Velebit at about 800 m above sea level, within the boundaries of the Velebit Nature Park. The village consists of fourteen hamlets scattered in the picturesque Krasnarska valley, which is surrounded on all sides by high and wooded slopes and peaks. The hamlets are mostly named after the people who live here: Vukelići, Glavaši, Anići, Devčići, etc. The location of the settlement and altitude contribute to the fact that snow in Krasno is a regular winter phenomenon and that, as a rule, stays on the ground for a long time. The settlement belongs to the area of ​​the town of Senj and Lika-Senj County. The road connecting Sveti Juraj (23 km) and Otočac (22 km) passes through the village, that is, it connects Primorje and Lika. Imala sam sreću, i u svom sam se životu vozila u ovakvoj konjskoj zapregi. Bilo je to jako davno. Bili smo u posjeti , zimi u Krasno polje.Lika. Djeca su bila mala, zapadao veliki snijeg, nikakav promet a mi smo se morali vratiti u Zagreb. Jedina u blizini je bila autobusna postaja u Otočac. Djed je imao konje i zapregu, i , ništa. Upregnuo djed konje i tako smo putovali 28 kilometara . Nezaboravan doživljaj. Žao mi je što moja djeca ne pamte, jer su bili mali. Zamotani u dekicama, jure konji, kroz brda, bjelinu snijega, šuma. Zaista nezaboravno. Ova fotka me podsjetila na to. Inače ,Krasno je jedno od naših najvećih planinskih naselja, smjestilo se na sjevernim obroncima Velebita na oko 800 m n.v., u granicama Parka prirode Velebit. Selo se sastoji od četrnaest zaselaka raštrkanih u slikovitoj Krasnarskoj dolini koja je sa svih strana okružena visokim i šumovitim strminama i vrhovima. Zaseoci većinom nose nazive po prezimenima ljudi koji ovdje žive: Vukelići, Glavaši, Anići, Devčići i dr. Smještaj naselja i nadmorska visina doprinose tome da je snijeg u Krasnu redovita zimska pojava i da se, u pravilu, dugo zadržava na tlu. Naselje pripada području grada Senja i Ličko-senjskoj županiji. Kroz selo prolazi cesta koja povezuje Sveti Juraj (23 km) i Otočac (22 km), to jest spaja Primorje i Liku.
