Today I was having a conversation with someone who was pretty new to Hive. They had no idea what Hive is all about and the opportunities it brings. I wanted to cover the top 5 things that came to my mind when I thought about Hive. Actually, when I told him that we have so many opportunities on Hive, he also asked me to list the top 5 things from Hive and explain them.
I was thinking that it would make a lot more sense to talk about the below items that I chose as the top 5 things. Maybe, someone who is also new to Hive and needs to know the top 5 hot items on Hive, this article will be a good read. Please don't tell me that I missed some projects in this article. I definitely agree that I would have missed a lot of things but this article is intended towards listing out the top 5 things that made a real difference in the Hive ecosystem. Other projects are also there but they are slowly picking up speed.
Hive Power
Hive is the primary token on the Blockchain. Even though we have a sidechain about which I'm going to be talking in a bit, the importance of Hive is always there and it is going to be there forever. It all started as a blogging platform and it still is a blogging platform. People use Hive blockchain as a blogging platform and earn rewards for their articles.
Even though Hive blockchain can be used as other utility platforms, something like a gaming platform, it all started as a blogging platform and the opportunity here still stays intact being a blogging platform. It is good to have a good stake on this platform as Hive power that can be a good earning opportunity.
HBD
Next important thing in Hive Ecosystem is the next token that is Hive Backed Dollars. You can probably find lots of articles already explaining what this is all about and why do we need a secondary token on this platform that is pegged to USD. One thing I admire the most here is the 10% APR we get from staking HBD. Especially after it was pegged to 1$ with the demand and supply, 10% APR for a stable coin on a decentralized platform is very good.
Splinterlands
Splinterlands has been the best DApp on the Hive ecosystem. We know for a fact that so many games emerged on Hive and not all the games were as successful as Splinterlands. The determination of the team and the concept they came up with make the game really interesting for the players and also with the enormous earning opportunity here. It is one of the best examples of the Play2Earn game in the crypto world. Recently after some new updates, splinterlands also saw a huge spike in terms of the player base and this also increased the demand by so much and in turn rewards the old players.
Hive Engine
This was the next best thing that happened on Hive Ecosystem. Hive Engine emerged as a side chain to Hive by introducing an important feature where people can create tokens inside Hive. Even though it was criticized a lot for being centralized, it solved lots of problems we had on Hive. Now slowly and steadily the team is trying to make this side chain decentralized and yeah it will take some time as keeping things really organized on a decentralized open-source project is pretty hard.
Leofinance
This was again a project that started really small inside Hive with the capabilities of Hive Engine token creation. But later this really created a huge impact. Many investors were attracted to Leofinance and there were so many authors who found their niche towards writing finance-related articles and earn a pretty decent income. It also increased the scope towards CUB Finance which was another token with DeFi capabilities and cross-chain functionalities. The team is solid and we can expect some good things in the near future too.
