The rental markets have been one of the best things in recent days to get a decent income for the cards that we are not using in the game. Some people earn a decent amount of DEC for renting their unused cards. But from what we observed from last season, this earnings is not very consistent. Sometimes it can be high and sometimes it can be very low. But from what I observed, we get a good opportunity to earn more during the end of the season.
Why do people rent their cards?
We might all think that people are renting their cards for playing the game. Though it is quite true, that is not the only reason why people rent their cards. There are several reasons for renting the cards. One important reason being the collection Power. By renting more cards, people are able to increase their power and advance to the next leagues. This is one of the key reasons why a card that gives good collection power is often rented by the players even though it is not frequently used in battles.
We are able to see that there are new players continuously starting their journey in splinterlands and the FOMO is very high. As the number of players increased drastically, there is a huge demand for the number of cards in the game. That is one of the reasons why the cards are also priced high in the market. As the saying goes, the early bird gets better pray, the early investors are now reaping good profit for their investment.
Maximizing the income from rentals
People can easily increase their rental income by doing frequent adjustments to the price. We have a great interface given by Peakmonsters. Though the option is available on the Splinterlands website itself, the interface given by peakmonsters is very comfortable to check the status of our cards and adjust the price based on the demand and supply. On the Peakmonsters interface, there is an option in the top right corner to check the rental market. If we click on that button, we will be able to verify if the price for which we have listed the card in the market is correct or not and are we earning the income that we should be earning.
Every player and the renter should visit the rental market frequently to check if their rented cards are of the correct value. Sometimes based on the demand and supply a card can either be priced low or high. If it is priced low, it is advantageous for the player and if it is priced high it is advantageous for the renter. As far as I see, I guess it has been fair play for both parties.
Towards the end of the season, the demand for the cards will be very high and at that time, people end up renting lots of cards to advance their leagues and also to increase their power. That is when the high-level cards are rented the most. Even small players get an opportunity to play high-level cards by renting them from the market.
