Splinterlands - DEC is good the first few days for players and the last few days for renters

This used to be the earning pattern in the splinterlands game. There were so many recent updates in the game and I'm not sure if I'm up to date with all those updates. Maybe I got some things to my mind and some things are still a puzzle to me. I have listed all my cards for rental in the market and let it give me rental income gradually.

I started using splex.gg service for adjusting my rental listing. I used to do the listing manually before that and ever since the service started, I was happy to start using that service and I personally think it is good for me. I don't have to break my head or spend my time managing my deck. I don't even know if the rental income I'm getting is a valid one or not. I noticed that it is definitely better than manually listing the cars.

I used to get 20k DEC per season earlier before using this service and now after using this service this has doubled and I'm able to make close to 50k DEC every season. This is literally double and that's why I did not mind paying them 10% fees for the same. This is definitely a good service. But what I'm concerned about right now is the statement is still valid. During the initial days of the season, the players used to get lots of DEC because there would be less competition. But towards the end of the season, the DEC will be high for people who rent out their cards. The reason is that there will be more demand for cards towards the end of the season as many players want to go up the ladder and have more collection power.

When I was a player, I used to play a lot during the start of the season for this very reason. I will not care much about the progress in the game but the DEC I used to get was pretty decent, which was why I wanted to play the game. Those were days I had more time in my hand and would look for opportunities to get better cards from pack openings. That's how I got my Gold Foil legendary cards.

I wouldn't go to the argument explaining which one is better, whether to play the game or rent out the cards. I personally think that it is very difficult to answer that question. The main reason is that it depends on the individual's preference and also the deck someone is holding. If there are cards that are very good for rentals, then renting the cards out can be better but there is also a luck factor when it comes to rewarding openings. Sometimes we can be very lucky and get GFL cards and that's one of the biggest reasons why we should be playing the game and focus on the rewards instead of just using the card for investments alone.

Also, not all cards from the deck get rented out. There will always be cards that don't get rented out during the start of the season and there will be demand only during the end of the season in order to utilize the collection power of a particular card.
