Only a few years back I came to know about this Black Friday. Being an Indian and living in a small corner of the world, it is hard to understand all these things, and thanks to the Internet and we are now able to connect with people from different parts of the world. Someone who lives on a small island is able to connect with someone who is living in the middle of the world. When someone is having heavy rains and storms, someone is enjoying their hot climate. But we are all connected because of this Internet.
I don't belong to a culture that celebrates Thanksgiving day and Black Friday. I also came to know that there is also something called Cyber Monday as well. Getting to know all these things little by little. As it is widely celebrated as thanksgiving day, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played an important role in my life. I don't want to go into details but I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you. Life is something that happens when we make plans for it. That is why it is important that we have to live the moment even though we should also be planning for the future too.
Remembering my laptop purchase
A few years back when I first heard about this Thanks Giving day craze and Black Friday craze, I also wanted to participate. I had a few friends and family members in the US who could get me something and bring it when they come to India. I wanted to purchase a good gaming laptop and I was hunting for it for a very long time. Those days I was not into coding too much. I was only a gamer and wanted to purchase a laptop only for gaming.
I grabbed a good opportunity and purchased an HP Omen laptop with decent specs. Someone was coming to India from the US and I asked them to bring it for me. If I had bought that in India, it would have been very costly and the sad thing is that we don't even get those specs in India. That's one of the biggest reasons why I wanted to purchase in the US. I'm still using the same laptop and every year when I see Black Friday, I remember this experience. Even though I made a lot of upgrades to my laptop in the last few years, I still love it and have the satisfaction that it was one of the best purchases I have ever made.
What did I purchase today?
I initially thought I don't want to purchase anything today but when I had a call with one of my friends on Hive today, we were discussing a few project ideas. I wanted to stay motivated and get us kick-started as soon as possible. That's why we bought the domains already and started the work today. I was fortunate to get two domains for 10$ today with the black Friday deal. I saw a coupon code that can be used to reduce the cost of my domain purchase.
I'm not going to disclose what projects that would be but we are planning to launch those projects as soon as possible. Both the projects are some tools for Hive users to make their life easier and experience Hive better. I don't want to share more than this and will soon try to write a post with more details on the same.
