Flying with the eagles
If we want a view of the world from an eagle's perspective then the best way to do it is to fly with the eagles. This analogy can be used for many things but I'm going to be writing this article from a financial standpoint. Most of us think that we have to become rich or we have to be financially free someday. In order to achieve something like this, it is also important to fly with the eagles. This means that we have to know what rich people are doing and we should be doing the same too. Not always but most of the time. Following the pattern of successful people is a good strategy.
Get ideas from Rich people
Most of the people who are Rich are pretty generous. They are usually good people who would like to share all the knowledge they have. Some people even help someone climb up by giving them their own ladder. I have personally seen many such generous people. But in a competitive world, it is also quite possible that some people would be hesitant to share their success secrets with others. I wouldn't personally blame any Rich people for that.
I would rather say that people approaching Rich people to get their ideas and suggestions are very less. Some people might find it annoying if stupid questions are asked but some people have high patience to help others even if they ask stupid questions to them. We should be able to see that there can be a lot of questions but most people who are unsuccessful are the ones who are more like a dreamer than doers. People who dream a lot ask for ideas from others but finally end up not doing anything but only dreaming about their success one fine day.
Copying the strategy of rich people
This is also very common. I have seen many people doing research on big stock investors investing patterns and then trying to replicate the same strategy. When I used to trade in the stock market, my broker used to call me and say that I should buy a particular stock just because someone bought it with a lot of money. Maybe copying can give us a fortune but blindly copying without knowing anything more can be dangerous too.
I have seen many rich people giving this advice too where if someone is asking them what they have to do to be successful, they explain what they did to be successful and even some rich people say that if others also do the same thing, they can become rich. I personally don't agree with that. I understand that copying the pattern of rich people who are already successful people might work sometimes but that's not the only way or that's not the right way to do it.
People usually have their unique way to do things. Copying someone might give some temporary fortune but if they want some real fortune in long term, I believe they have to find out their own unique strategy for winning. This is my personal opinion. If investing blindly in whatever Warren Buffet invested would make someone rich, they should be so many people who should have been rich today. This strategy might have worked for some people but doesn't always work for everyone.
Interact a lot with rich people
This is something that I call a good approach to flying with the eagles. Having rich friends will give us the facility to understand how they approach a problem and a solution and how they plan their business and investments. This will also help us think and compare how they handle things and how we handle them. Casual interaction with rich people is also very good. We might learn a lot from them. The conversation should be very casual I would say. It shouldn't be something like how you plan to take their money from them. Of course, nobody would be doing that but just saying. The interactions should be wise enough so that they don't feel dumb about us while interacting.
