Hello dear friends. I hope you are well. In this article I will introduce you to my family and write about a custom in my country. This is my family. Husband, two daughters and me. We went to visit a little baby who is only a month old.
The custom in my country when you go to see a baby is called “babine”.
The custom in my country when you go to see a baby is called “babine”. The period from the birth of a child to 40 days in our nation is determined as the period of the grandmother. We followed the old customs, we took roasted chicken bread, red wine, onion and salt. In order to protect the mother and the newborn from the influence of evil forces, various protective amulets of magical content were worshiped, and garlic and red thread were considered the best means of protection. Even today, the custom of tying a red thread to a small baby or putting a small red rosary on the handle, against spells, has been maintained.
The golden ducat in the cradle has remained a custom to this day. Grandparents gave it to grandchildren. Other relatives today mostly leave paper bills in the cradle next to the child. When the banknote is lowered into the crib, the baby is told if the boy is "To buy a girl", if the girl is "To buy a boy". This symbolizes that they will grow up and one day start their own family.
This custom of carrying food to the mother is very practical. A young mother has a lot of responsibilities around the baby. So we ate the food I prepared together. We spent a wonderful day with relatives and met a new member of our large family.
It is a charm of habit that of your family and country.
