The largest 100 companies in the world specialized in the arms industry recorded an increase in their revenues and sales by 4.6% in 2018. France alone accounts for 5.5% of the arms market share.

The writer mentioned that France comes after the United Kingdom (8.4% of the arms market share) and Russia (8.6%).

The United States is at the top of the ranking, with arms manufacturers increasing their transactions volume by about 7.2% in 2018, thanks to the policy of Donald Trump's administration, and Americans hold 59% of the market share, equivalent to 246 billion euros.

In 2015, the United Nations stated that $ 267 billion a year was enough to eradicate hunger until 2030.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute report stated that the arms market is expanding more and more, as its shares increased by about 4.6% in the year 2018, with transactions amounting to about $ 420 billion for the first major companies in the manufacture of weapons, and this figure is equivalent to the size of Austria's GDP in 2017, It ranks 27th in the ranking of the world's richest countries.

High military spending

The writer pointed out that aircraft manufacturers are making significant progress, as sales of Lockheed Martin, which produces the American F-35, increased by 5.2%.

As for Boeing, its sales increased by 5.7%, and although it is more specialized in civil aviation, 29% of its financial revenues come from its military activities.

The writer said that the European Airbus company, in turn, recorded an increase in the volume of its transactions in arms, which amounted to about 9%, while sales of the French company "Dassault", which makes the Rafale warplanes, rose to about 30%.

Russian arms manufacturers have benefited from increased domestic military spending and the success of the S-400 anti-aircraft defense systems that have been deployed in recent years in both Syria and Turkey.
