"The aliens are there, and they could be alive among us on the surface of the globe," said the first British woman on a trip to space.
"The aliens are present, and they live somewhere in this universe," Professor Helen Sharman was quoted by the Observer newspaper as saying.
She showed that "aliens exist, no doubt about that," and she repeated: "There are completely different forms of life" among billions of stars.
In its report, the BBC says that Professor Sharman, 56, entered history when she traveled to the Russian space station Mir in May 1991.
