Beginning in early November, the rainy season has officially begun in much of Indonesia. Extreme weather changes typically mark the beginning of the transition period, also known as the period between the dry and wet seasons. One day, the sun was burning hot and, almost simultaneously, the temperature dropped and it began to rain. At the start of the rainy season, this erratic pattern signals the beginning of the climate change transition period.
There are other negative effects of this condition that we need to be aware of, especially for the health of our young children, because they are physically very susceptible to disease. This period not only makes people uncomfortable in their daily activities. Prevention is always preferable to treatment, because health care costs far more than anything else we can think of. Because it is our responsibility as parents to take precautions to ensure that our kids' health is unharmed throughout this extremely stressful time of change.
One of the negative consequences of the transitional period at the start of the rainy season is the heated air from the hot sun that feels stinging quickly and starts to cloud at almost the same moment, and then it rains. a rapid shift in the weather and a decline in health. In order to respond by foreseeing this possibility, parents must likewise exercise greater creativity and wisdom. There is some advice for parents that can be used as a preventative measure so that kids can continue to be active in school, play, and carry out various activities at home normally and avoid the negative impacts of the transition phase.
First, encourage them to drink lots of water and, if necessary, nutritious drinks to replenish body ions lost during the course of the day's activities. This is done to prevent dehydration and maintain a steady level of fluid in the child's body. Prepare kids for school or extracurricular activities by packing mineral water or wholesome, natural isotonic fluids.
Give children vitamin C supplements for endurance, which can be found in fruits, vegetables, or daily dietary supplements. Of course, administering and receiving vitamin C to youngsters requires ingenuity on the part of the parent. For children's appetites, fruits and vegetables can be presented in interesting, humorous, and emotional ways. Fruit juices and kids' favorite drinks might contain supplements.
Third, keep kids' clothing from being too thick and doubled. Ask the child to wear simple, relaxed attire that isn't dark in color and is composed of materials that easily wick away perspiration (especially for outdoor activities during the day). The objective is to ensure that a child's body skin does not perspire excessively and dries rapidly in order to prevent skin conditions like prickly heat and similar conditions.
Fourth, when leaving the house, cover your nose with a mask and get a raincoat ready. When the humidity is extremely low and then occasionally spikes, the air becomes dry and dust begins to fly everywhere. Not to mention the additional, heavily polluted motorway. Children can avoid breathing-interfering pollutants that can enter their bloodstream by donning a mask that covers their noses. Children are protected from the cold and rainy weather by raincoats that are ready to wear whenever it rains.
Fifth, remind kids not to consume beverages that are too hot or cold. It doesn't matter if drinking cold beverages in hot weather serves only to quench thirst and cool the body. Consume sparingly, moderately, and not too coldly. Similarly, avoid giving your child hot beverages during cold weather. The condition of the child's body will really "drop" and become more unstable and prone to sickness when drinks that are too cold or hot are consumed.
Make regular eating and sleeping a habit for kids to ensure that their health is continually maintained. During this transitional period, parents must set an example by handling circumstances involving extreme weather. Invite kids over and train them to do what they want to do well by starting with their parents. The youngster will undoubtedly be loved and followed by his parents with delight, even if they are not questioned if they have seen their actions.
