Seafood or seafood is a source of food that is rich in protein and omega-3. Various types of fish, shrimp, crabs, oysters, and shellfish are some examples of seafood that are often encountered. Even so, not everyone can eat seafood because this food also causes allergies in the body.
Benefits of Seafood for the Body
Not only delicious, seafood also turns out to have good nutritional content for health and beauty.
Here are some of the benefits that can be obtained by eating seafood and fish:

1. Healthy Heart
Seafood is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. This content can help nourish the heart, including reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, such as stroke, heart attack, to arrhythmias.
2. Good for Bone and Joint
Health In addition to healthy heart, omega-3 fatty acids are also good for maintaining healthy bones and joints. Omega-3 fatty acids can facilitate joint movement and reduce joint stiffness due to rheumatoid arthritis (chronic inflammation of the joints). Then, vitamin D found in some fish, such as salmon and tuna can also support bone growth and good calcium absorption.
3. Maintain Eye Health
The content of omega-3 fatty acids can also maintain eye health. Age-related macular degeneration (the middle part of the eye) tends to decrease in people who regularly eat seafood. Consuming fish oil can also keep your eyes healthy and bright.
4. Improve Brain Ability
Omega-3 fatty acids in seafood can increase brain power. This is because seafood can increase levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA), so it is good for supporting brain growth (especially in infants and children).
A person who regularly eats seafood (such as fish) has more gray matter in the brain centers that play a role in regulating emotions and memory.
5. Maintain Mental
Health Eating seafood not only prevents depression, but can also help overcome it. Women who eat seafood have a lower risk of depression than those who don't eat it. This is because seafood contains lots of omega-3 fatty acids which can increase the production of the hormones dopamine and serotonin in the brain. These two types of hormones play a role in creating a happy atmosphere and preventing depression.
6. Maintain Skin
Health The content of EPA in seafood is believed to be able to block collagen-destroying enzymes so that it can protect the skin from exposure to UV rays from the sun, prevent wrinkles, and repair skin damage.
7. Supports Pregnancy
Seafood, except those high in mercury, can be consumed by pregnant women. Because, the content of omega-3 fatty acids (including DHA acid) in it can help the baby's brain development and reduce bleeding and the risk of premature birth.
8. Strengthens the Immune System
A healthy and strong immune system is one of the benefits of eating seafood. Seafood contains selenium which is important in maintaining the immune system, while the iodine content in seafood can regulate the digestive system and increase immunity against disease.
And those are some of the benefits that we can get from seafood. Apart from being delicious, it also contains a lot of protein.
