We all know that rice is an important plant for humans, because rice is a staple food for humans.

Rice is planted by farmers in the fields who patiently take care of their crops in the fields, therefore the role of these rice farmers is very important for everyone because if there are no farmers, we may not be able to eat rice.

When the rice planting season arrives, usually the farmers will plow the fields with tractors before planting rice, the goal is to cultivate the land in the fields to make it better and level the fields to make it easier to plant rice.

If all the fields have been plowed with tractors, usually the farmers will immediately plant their fields with the rice seeds that they have prepared themselves, and usually women farmers do this work.

They do not just plant, the rice plants that are planted must be parallel and straight, it is intended that when the harvest season the farmers can harvest easily.

After planting, the farmers will wait approximately 2 weeks and after that usually the farmers will provide fertilizer, the function of the fertilizer is various, some are used to fertilize the soil, some are used so that the rice plants are not eaten by pests.

After waiting for about 3 months, the farmers are ready to harvest their rice in the fields, in this modern era farmers can use machines to harvest starch, but in some areas there are also those who still harvest rice manually, of course it will take a long time.

After harvesting, usually the farmers will dry their rice first, it aims to make the rice dry and not rotten after being put into the sack and that can also affect the quality of the rice.

And the role of rice farmers for us is:

1. Providing food for the community

Maybe this is an important role for all farmers starting from rice, fruit, vegetables and spices farmers, they all have an important role in society so that they can provide food for us.

2. Managing farmland

Farmers use agricultural land to grow rice, fruit and vegetables or other commodities and not only provide food for us, they also cultivate the soil to make it better and not cause erosion.

3. Ensuring the integrity of ecosystems and biodiversity

By managing agricultural land properly, it will certainly maintain the ecosystem and biodiversity that exists there. Indirectly this can keep the food chain well maintained.

4. Overcoming pests as a counterbalance to the ecosystem

There are some animals that are considered pests and can damage agricultural land, farmers know which animals are pests and which need to be removed so as not to disturb the ecosystem.

5. The savior of the economy

Some rice farmers have succeeded in being a savior for the economy, both for their families and for the country. This is because the rice harvest can be exported to other countries and the results from the sale will certainly make a profit.

It is also hoped that farmers will be more advanced, considering that there are many problems they often face in living their lives as farmers.
