At home we have products that we use daily and we know that we can give it a double function, that is why here are some products that you can get the most out of.

1. Acetone:

  • Wipe light-colored leather shoes with it to remove all dark marks (do not use, however, on shoes or other plastic items.

  • Use to polish door locks and chrome objects. But if you are going to use it in a pot, be sure to rinse well when finished. Remember that acetone is highly flammable.

  • Has “anything” of plastic material melted onto a hot surface? clean it in seconds with acetone.

2. Sugar:

  • Add a tablespoon to the water of the flowers, and this will keep fresh and lush for longer.

  • To reduce the effect of a spicy spice, nothing better than throwing a teaspoon of sugar in your mouth and waiting for it to dissolve by itself.

3. Baking soda:

  • Put an open box in the refrigerator to eliminate food odors.

  • Rub ink stained leather items with baking soda… and the ink will disappear before your very eyes.

  • Combine three parts baking soda with one part water, and use the resulting paste to polish silverware. Just apply it with a damp sponge, rinse well and polish with a soft cloth.

4. Lemon:

  • Pass one half of the lemon on the cutting board, and the smells (of vegetables, spices, fish…) will disappear as if by magic.

  • Use lemon juice as an astringent. Just strain a little, mix with ice cold soda and apply to face. And if you have a pimple on your face, "fight" it by smearing lemon juice several times a day.

5. Vinegar:

  • Leave a container of vinegar in a freshly painted room and the smell of the paint will disappear like charm.

  • Pour some vinegar into that skillet you just bought, heat it until it starts to boil, and discard it. Food will never stick to the pan!

  • To keep black clothes black, remember to add a splash of vinegar to the water in which you are going to wash them.

  • Use to clean glass or plastic shower doors to remove foam and soap residue.

6. Cream of tartar:

  • In addition to giving consistency to meringues and making cakes and muffins rise when baked, it helps restore tissues and other white garments their natural color if dissolved in wash water.

  • Ran out of baking powder? Add to each cup of flour a teaspoon of cream of tartar and half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda, sift several times to mix everything well ... and your cake will rise divinely.

7. Glycerin:

  • Rub it on the bathroom mirrors so they don't “cloud” with steam when the hot water tap is turned on.

  • After cleaning the refrigerator, spread a light layer of glycerin all over the interior, and you will see how easy it is to clean up any spillage that occurs later. If you rub it in the freezer once clean, the ice will easily flake off the next time it's defrosted.

8. Toothpaste:

  • It is an excellent glue, which keeps signs and posters fixed to the wall.

  • Water marks or burns on furniture? Rub following the grain of the wood with a cloth dampened in water and a little toothpaste.

9. Salt:

  • Scrub your hands with a good handful after cutting garlic and onions to remove the odor.

  • To soothe a sore and irritated throat, one of the most effective remedies is to gargle with salt water. And rinsing it in your mouth helps fight bacteria and keep your gums healthy.

10. Talc:

  • Powder a knotted chain with talcum powder, and it will be a breeze to untangle.

  • Does the wood floor squeak? Pour some talcum powder into the joints between boards to “cushion” the joint of the boards and make it stop ringing immediately.

  • Pour talcum powder on the grease stains, wait a while, brush ... and you will see them disappear.

11. Tea:

  • If you want to give a pine wood furniture an antique “air”, varnish it with a strong tea cup. When it has dried, coat it with a "real" varnish.

  • Tea bags moistened with warm water are perfect for relieving tired or inflamed eyes. Just place it on the eyes for ten minutes.

  • Black clothing that is beginning to lose color instantly recovers a little strong tea is added to the rinse water and allowed to stand for a while before squeezing.

Many of these products have a wide variety of functions and it is good to take advantage of them because they help us save time when solving those details that always come up at home.
