The human being to satisfy his desires for evolution, transformation and progress has understood that work represents the most favorable means. Through it, man has been forced to interact with the tools that nature offers him and to use them for his benefit. This transformation has allowed them to satisfy their needs, improve their quality of life, the position they occupy within society, in short, it has allowed them to mold and transform all resources.
The definition of work has varied throughout history, has changed and evolved over time. Work is the product of the physical and mental effort made by the individual in order to transform raw materials or unprocessed elements to meet their needs and that of other human beings.
In recent times the meaning of work has been distorted, since when thinking or talking about work is done with the purpose of producing and not in the benefits or contributions that it brings to the individual or the group. When work is thought of as a form of production, the safety and health of workers are sometimes not taken into account.
Workers are those who are exposed to a series of risk factors. A risk factor is the element or set of variables that are present in the working conditions and that can cause a decrease in the worker's level of health, such as: ergonomic, physical, chemical, biological and electrical, which when being present causes occupational diseases and occupational accidents, among which could be mentioned occupational cancer, stress, muscle pain, fractures ...
Although every activity involves taking certain risks, safety at work is one of the most important aspects of work activity. Working without the appropriate safety measures can lead to serious health problems, for this reason it is necessary to promote initiatives to obtain a quality in the work environment that allows the best development of activities within organizations.
Risks to the health of workers are not something natural or inevitable, but are consequences of inadequate working conditions. It is proven that occupational risk factors are closely linked to jobs. According to the conditions that the positions or positions present, together with the risks that each one of them represents, it is necessary to be clear about the appropriate preventions as a fundamental part of the health and safety relationship, that is, each company must offer well-being to its workers, ensure that certain anomalies do not turn into tragedies.
Companies must implement strict workplace safety policies as well as efficient communication that allows a harmonious relationship between work control and the mood of their employees, this will allow a greater increase in work efficiency.
