I Just went through the Singapore Housing Board Gallery and get to know their new township masterplan.
The new township called Tengah, in Malay, Tengah means at the middle.
So this literally means the new township is located at the center of Singapore, also it's at center of forest. Because this will be the ecoliving-centric town.
As you can see the slogan, Tengah is titled after Forest Town.
It is targetted to transfrom the western region into another CBD area , other than the current Raffles Place area.
This is the big map that visualize how the whole Tengah Township is.
As it's ecoliving theme, it will have the transportation routes to be transferrred to underground and not visible from the ground level.
Within it, it has few districts with different functions.
I am impressed for the overall township planning , just a little hold back on this forest corridor , which they aim to do it at the central park. The playground that built on the trees may not be too practical in tropics weather as it is in Singapore. The concern would be the large number of mosquitos that would come along.
I will definitely go and visit this new township once it's fully occupied. Now it's just a start of the township development. The infrastructure may not be complete as of now yet.
