Now already e-commerce era, together with Covid19 pandemic, E-commerce grows at a even faster speed globally.
But something problematic with E-commerce, to me , is the parcel collection aspect. Due to hectic worklife, most of the Singapore families are both husband wife are working employees, so normally during day time, everybody is at workplace and nobody stay home for the parcel collection. One will not just take leave just to receive parcel, don't they?
When you do shopping on taobao or Tmall, they will deliver internationally to your doorstep with delivery fee, but the problem is nobody is there to receive the parcel and most of the time, courier guy just have to leave a card and ask you go to their far-away company for collection. That would defeat the purpose of order parts online for its convenience.
So, there a logistic company in Singapore , came out with a balanced strategy and it's well received by end-users here. Thier strategy is you place order via their portal, then they will gather the order and 1 bull bulk order from China , and ship all in big bulk to Singapore.
Then the collection part, instead of sending to your door, you can opt for collection via their delivery van at designated period (after work hour 7pm onwards). And for this option, the delivery fee is much cheaper- Win-win solution for both end users and the company.
For my area, the collection is scheduled every weekday 9pm. I think this is perfect timing , as most of the people will confirm off-work during this timing.
Many people like this parcel collection arrangement including me , so even the van would stop by for mere 15minutes, but the queue is always long, as you can see from the photos.
For non-urgent items like shirts, shoes and sandals, we are now prone to internet purchase and wait for its delivery via van. It's not that fast but the cost is low.
For sandals like below, cost only SGD5 including all the shipment fee, very reasonable right?
