Hey guys, this is Arn. Back in action again. And back with a haunting and mysterious story. This one for my friend @Ling01. I promised her a story. A mysterious one. So here I am telling you a story of a ship or I say 'A Ghost Ship'. Mary Celeste, a ship that has kept many story in her womb. If you google it, you will know more of it. 149 years had passed away, still the mystery is unsolved. No answers will be in the end I guess. So let's start.
The story was narrated by David Morehouse who was the captain of the ship named 'The Gratier'. On December 5, 1872, the British ship Gratier was 400 miles away from azores. Everything were all ok. Then suddenly the crew members found something strange. A ship was standing just a far away from them. Now it's a very common matter in sea but the uncommon incident was that when they found no crew members or any otherr people on the deck. They used their binocular to witness any people but there was no sign of people. Then they started to look out for any casualties of the ship. But the ship looked all ok. Even the weather was not bad at that moment as if they people of that ship had to take shelter inside the ship. So what's the point? Where were the people? The captain was shocked when he noticed the name, Mary Celeste!!! He knew the ship. He knew the captain of that ship. She started her voyage eight days ago from Gratier. It was heading to Italy from New York. According to his calculation, Mary Celeste must had reached Italy by that time. In spite of that, she was floating normally, far from the port. Captain David Morehouse seemed very confused at that moment. He needed an answer of that question.
He ordered his crew to turn their ship towards Mary Celeste. He was sure that something wrong had happened to his fellow friend and his crews. He sent rescue boats to the ship. They shouted for people so that they could hear any answer but in vain. The rescue team decided to climb on the ship as none were seen. Now, the most mysterious part was awaiting for them. Mary Celeste was floating and making her voyage without sailors, crews and captain!!! No sign of pirates attack! No accident! No pandemic threats! Even there were enough foods in the ship. Just those people on that ship were gone. As like they were vanished in the air! Just like smoke.
They started to looking for log book of captain. It was found and there was nothing serious written. Daily information was recorded by the captain. The last information was written 7 days ago and from then Mary Celeste was making her voyage all alone! Is that possible? Some clothes were found in a tub. Probably someone put those clothes and were ready to wash. But where were they? Only a few drops of blood were found on the deck. Maybe someone had pierced their finger or anything else. Another mystery was waiting for them at that time. After searching a few hours more, they found that at the front of the ship, vertically a part was cut very smoothly. Exact same cut was found from the back side too. Now what was the reason? And who could do this so perfectly? In the middle of the sea? Although no sharp things were found on that ship that could make that cut. Then how?
Captain Morehouse were in deep shock when the rescue team described everything to him. He could not match any pattern. Now think about this. A ship having experienced captain and sailors suddenly found lonely in the middle of the sea. They had enough food. The engine was working perfectly. There were no sign of attacks from pirates. Not a single scratch from attackers. Because at that time pirates not only robbed the ships but also destroyed them in maximum way. Again the weather was cool then. So the option of deadly typhoons caused Mary Celeste's people dead is highly denied. No sign of revolution against the captain. One mere option can be held that might be all the people had committed suicide by jumping on the sea. But why did they do so? Again a strong answer awaits here. If that happened, dead bodies should be found floating in the sea, at least one dead body. But no sign of dead body. Then what happened with those guys? And who cut those pieces? And why? What happened with the 50 people on that ship? Well, no one who sailed on that ship Mary Celeste, were ever seen again in this world!
David Morehouse brought that ship with him. From 149 years, people searching for answers. But the history book is empty as none has the answer. Who or What? Giant sea monster? Robbery? Alien? Ancient myths? Who knows?
