Located in Vedharganj upazila of Shariatpur district, the 800-year-old Mohisar Digumbori Dighi is known to Hindus as a place of pilgrimage. Raja Chand Roy, a zamindar of Bikrampur Pargana, one of the 12 Bhuiyans of the Mughal period, dug this dighi on a 10 acre land at the request of the monks of Digambari. Digambari Dighi of Mahishar is surrounded by innumerable structures including Digambari Sannyasi Bari, Mela Chattar, Jora Pukur, Manasa Mandir, Kali Mandir Chattar and Lakshmi Mandir. During the re-excavation of the lake in 1982, a number of rare archeological specimens were found, including a Kasti statue weighing 42 kg.

There are several myths about the Digambari Dighi of Mahisar. They believe that bathing in the waters of Mahisa Dighi frees one from sins and diseases. And so innumerable devotees from far and wide come to bathe in this lake with different vows. For many years, the Hindu community worships on the banks of the lake on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Besides, the Baishakhi fair and puja of Mahishar organized on the first Baishakh is a special attraction for the visitors. Then thousands of fans and visitors from home and abroad gathered at this fair. In winter, the arrival of innumerable guest birds can be noticed on the banks of the lake. At present, Digambari Dighi and its surroundings have been developed as one of the tourist attractions.
