Lechon Kawali (Crispy Pork Belly)
Lechon kawali is an easy to prepare dish. It is best partnered with saoy sauce with calamansi. So, let's start.
Ingredients
- Pork belly
- Cooking oil
- Salt
- Whole pepper corn
- Dried bay leaf
Procedure
- Boil water in a cooking pot
- When the water starts to boil, put the pork belly. We need to boil it to become tender
- Add the salt, pepper corn, and bay leaf.
- Let it simmer for 20-30mins in a medium heat.
- When the pork became tender, remove it from cooking pot then let it cool dow
- When it cools down, rub desired amount of salt all over the pork
- Next is to heat oil in a cooking pot. Enough to deep-fry the pork belly
- When the oil became hot, you can now fry the pork belly.
Warning: While deep frying the pork belly, make sure to keep a safe distance from the stove because the oil might splatter.
- When the pork belly is cooked, remove then serve. Enjoy!
