Streaming has caused music to lose value massively. By this I don't mean that I don't like Internet users to enjoy music for free or very cheap via YouTube or streaming services. But I do see a problem with the rating of music. An example: When a new album by a well-known artist is released, millions of people listen to it and the release storms the charts although most of the listeners might find the record bad and would never have bought it.
Simply counting streams for the charts, distorts the picture very much as frequently streamed tracks are not necessarily the ones people like best. After all, they have to pay nothing or very little for streaming and only sacrifice a little time.
The result of the evaluation of streams is the fact that playlists with many followers on the streaming services are now one of the most important ways to get new tracks into the charts.
I don't think this system is very fair and it should only work for a transitional period. I hope that there will be a change in thinking in the coming years, especially with the upcoming developments in blockchain technology.
One of the first companies to develop something in this direction is zimrii.com They work on the tokenization of musicians and bands. An innovative music platform with an artist token exchange is planned.
Just imagine that in the future there will be many musicians and artists who issue their own crypto currency. Then the charts could be calculated e.g. from a change in market capitalization. This is certainly a very simplified possibility now but it shows quite well how quality, popularity and value of music can be evaluated in the future.
Thats why I think it's worth it to take a closer look on services like zimrii.com I am already member of their beta-testing mailing list and really looking forward to see what they have to offer.

Hey there,
Thank for the information, I will check out what they are purposing. What will set them apart from others, for example?
Apparently, they are already enormously late on their Roadmap and I don't see any press article reporting their project ?!
