On these days each year we humans used up more resources of this earth that the earth can renew each year. In other words by 22 Aug we have used up the amount of resources that the earth can renew in a year. To meet the human requirement of resources in a year the earth will take 1.6 years to renew it.
This year due to pandemic it came about 3 weeks late.
This is indeed an alarming situation as earth is not able to sustain the increasing requirements of mankind. We are overdrawing resources at a faster rate than what the earth can fill up.
We can very well understand the consequences of it in the long run.
It is called the ‘Earth overshoot day’
