Reflections on Covid 19

For a long time I wanted to write my impressions on this topic, since without a doubt it is one of the particular characteristics of this 2020.

I do not stop at the measures taken by the various countries, since each situation is different and particular; I do think, for example, that restrictions should be gradually lifted, since we cannot live locked up forever. Now, for example, the case of Venezuela is different, due to the deterioration of the health sector.

What I want to highlight is the lessons that, in itself, this pandemic that has befallen the population leaves us and that will mark the history of humanity from now on.

- The limits of human nature. One of the points that I always highlight is that this pandemic has taught us that we are limited beings. Despite the great technological advances, the development of cultures and the progress of peoples, we must recognize that there are still things that escape our hands.

For this reason, let us not become anxious when we face a problem or when the difficulties that we encounter on our way overwhelm us. Let us fill ourselves with patience and strength to find a solution, let us recognize that we do not know it all, we are beings in constant evolution of learning and human development.

- We don't own time. How many of us at the end of 2019, we made our plans for 2020 and perhaps many of them have not been possible due to the current situation.

That's life, "Man proposes, but God disposes" goes the saying. Therefore, the best advice I can give you is "enjoy every moment of your life", because only today is true, tomorrow is not in our hands.

- The value of life. Covid 19 has brought us all to death, face to face, as this virus makes no distinction of any kind. For this reason, it has made us value more many things that went unnoticed, because of the daily and evident of them, in compensation we worried more about other things: having, power, social position, etc.

This virus has reminded us once again that the important thing is not what we have but what we are, that we are not worth because of our position or social position but because of the quality of our person, since in the end, at the moment of our death, nothing we have to take away, "we were made of dust and to him we must return."

- Culture of the meeting. Once I heard Facundo Cabral say that life is an encounter, a triple encounter, I would say: With oneself, with others and with God.

Current events have, at least, arranged the moments for us to meet with ourselves (reflection), with others (fraternity) and with God (spirituality), things that we normally excuse ourselves from doing due to "lack" of time.
