What is concrete?

Concrete is usually a mix of cement, sand water and other aggregates such as crushed stones and pebbles and sometimes the addition of chemicals. The ratio in which these materials are mixed differs from project to project and sometimes within  the same project as well depending on what it is needed for. For instance there is a different ratio or mix design of the components of concrete that is used for foundations versus the ratio or mix that is used for floor screeds ( also sometimes known as self setting concrete). In addition to the different mixes, there are also different methods of mixing and delivery which may depend on the budget as well as size and needs of the project. For example there's volumetric concrete, Ready mixed Concrete Reigate, Mix on site etc.

What is Concrete used for ?

Concrete is very commonly used in the construction of homes and other buildings. In the construction of these, it may be used in building the foundations, filling the walls, flooring among other things. In recent times, concrete has become commonly used in ‘do it yourself’ projects as well for the making of plant pots, ashtrays and jewelry trays. Concrete is a material that is durable, very strong as well as resistant to the elements and nature such as rain or extreme heat or cold. Due to this, it remains the most commonly used material when it comes to construction. For instance, Ready mixed Concrete Reigate is useful for larger constructions, while Mix on site concrete mix in powder form is used in smaller projects. Concrete is absolutely versatile and serves multiple uses in construction sites.

Where is concrete used?

Along with the above mentions, concrete is also used in the construction of roads and bridges as well as sports arenas for certain sports. In addition to this, it is also used in the making of pavements, walkways and bicycle tracks. Furthermore Ready mixed Concrete Reigate is also commonly used for making parking lots around the globe. Concrete, due to its extreme strength and durability is also the most used when it comes to foundations of buildings. Foundations are usually laid deep in the subsoil for average buildings and homes, and even deeper with the use of tall columns when it comes to skyscrapers, as such the material used for these foundations need to be able to resist the damage that can be caused by exposure to the soil and the chemicals in it. As such the Ready mixed Concrete Reigate sometimes with the addition of certain chemicals remain the best option when it comes to building foundations.

What are the Different types of concrete?

There are of course different mixed as well as delivery methods of concrete that should be chosen based on the project. Ready mixed Concrete Reigate is a method of mixing and delivery, wherein the concrete is mixed in the batch plant, the mix is of course designed according to the need of construction and then is delivered to the site. This is considered the best as well as most convenient as this is mixed in the batch plant, ensuring that it is thoroughly and well mixed as well as the convenience of ordering the exact required amount.
