Good deeds can have a great impact on our lives

The concept of kindness encompasses many positive concepts such as kindness, tolerance, compassion and benevolence. It embodies many good feelings and behaviors related to the human condition. Research on kindness reveals the fact that doing good makes you feel good. In short, the benefits of doing good are much more than you think... Would you like to discover the healing power of kindness?

"Let us first of all be good, then we shall be happy." Jean Jacques Rousseau

Now, remember the last time you did a good deed without expecting anything in return and go back to that moment in your mind and think about how you felt. Isn't it amazing? Even a simple act of kindness can have a bigger impact than you can imagine on the life of the person you did it for, and that impact can touch the life of another person you don't even know, and in fact, in this way, your kindness spreads all over the world.

Today, we continue to search for answers to concepts such as happiness, well-being, or in other words, well-being. At this point, many of us now know that happiness and well-being is not only about receiving but also about giving. Raising our level of awareness and adding behaviors that add meaning to our lives are essential for sustainable and meaningful happiness.

Research on kindness has already revealed the benefits of doing good, helping, being compassionate and tolerant. Here are the main benefits of kindness...

1. Kindness makes you happy.

While making more money or owning a better car, a better phone or an expensive handbag can bring instant gratification, sustained happiness comes from sustaining meaningful action.

In a study conducted at the University of British Columbia, a group of people were asked to spend 50 dollars a day, and at the end of the day, people who spent that money to help others instead of buying something for themselves reported feeling happier. Remember how you feel when you buy someone a gift and see them happy. It's as simple as that...

When we talk about doing good, it is of course not right to limit it to money. There are countless ways to do good; working in volunteer organizations, sharing love, volunteering your knowledge, helping someone in a difficult situation, feeding stray animals and even smiling... There are no limits to goodness!

2. Kindness improves our relationships.

"Be as kind as possible. That is always possible." Dalai Lama

Saying good morning to a neighbor you meet in the morning, holding the door for someone coming behind you, thanking them sincerely, giving way in traffic, saying good luck... These are always possible.

When you exhibit these behaviors, you give the other person the message that you care about them, and this is one of the basic ways to build a good relationship. Think about it, would you rather be in a relationship with someone who is rude and selfish, or someone who is kind and does you a favor?

Scientists who have studied the impact of kindness on relationships have found that in a study involving men and women, aged between 20 and 25, and people from 33 countries, people who show kindness and do not withhold kindness are more attractive.

3. Kindness is good for our health.

Research shows that kindness has a positive relationship with our physical and mental health. Doing acts of kindness increases the level of the hormone oxytocin in our body, which helps to relax and lower blood pressure. It also raises the pain threshold and supports the healing process.

In another study conducted at the University of British Colombia, a group with high anxiety levels did favors an average of six times a week and reported that their anxiety levels decreased at the end of a month.

Yes, unfortunately, violence, wars and fights never end in the world. At this very point, we need kindness more. Every good deed we do individually is a great step that will lead us to a better world.
