
Police have arrested a hypocrite named Nur Islam (45) for kicking and insulting the Holy Quran. He claims to be a pir and travels around different areas.

Bhandapir Nur Islam was arrested from Rehaipukuria village in Chowhali upazila on Wednesday morning. The detainee is the son of late Golaf Sikder of Rehaipukuria village in Baghutia union of Nur Islam upazila. Police and locals said Nur Islam left the Qur'an Sharif on top of his mobile phone charge on Wednesday (October 14th) morning. Excited by his wife Jahanara Akhtar's obstruction, Bhandap threw the Holy Quran Sharif out of the house and stood on it.

Nur Islam was arrested by the people around him and reported to the police. Later, at 10:30 am, the police went to the spot, arrested Bhandapir Nur Islam and took him to the police station. Chowhali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mollah Masud Parvez said he was arrested in the morning and brought to the police station. Action will be taken against him after investigation.
