Although the virus of the bank's ATM booth attack can be prevented for the time being, the government's 'Computer Incident Response Team' says that Bangladesh is at high risk of cyber attack due to weak firewall.

So far this year, there have been at least 691 cyber attacks in Bangladesh. The latest North Korean hacker group Beagle Boys' 'FastCash to Point Zero' malware was caught on the networks of three ISPs in the country.

The government's Computer Incident Response Team claims that the malware attack targeted at the ATM booth network hack has been prevented. Tareq M Barkatullah, project director of the Computer Incident Response Team (SART), said: "I can say that the attack of FastCash to Point Zero has been thwarted by 99%. Because the anti-malware software we use is already packed. '

However, the anti-virus system of ISP networks is weak. So the server and the client may be affected again. Tareq M Barkatullah further said, “Anti-malware-anti-virus has not been installed in those places where the feed is coming from. If bandwidth providers are affected, then ordinary and corporate users are likely to be affected.

It is not possible for the ISP to stop the attack of new malware. The leaders of the organization are acknowledging. That is why they are talking about strengthening surveillance in the 'deep packet inspection / cyber information flow' officially. ISPAB President Aminul Hakim said, "I have a firewall here. A malware attack took place tomorrow. The firewall is not so intelligent that it will be coding on its own." Someone has to analyze the packet of malware. Analyze and give a patch, then the firewall will be updated, then it will be able to give protection. I will not be able to stop the attack in any way without the awareness of the users.

BASIS believes that with 'Next Generation Firewall' it is possible for ISPs to prevent malware attacks. At the same time, they demanded reduction of high tariff on firewall imports. Syed Almas Kabir, president of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services, said, "I can only protect the known threat. I told my network to reject if something like this came up. But what I don't know is whether there is a new technology to protect this kind of threat, good or bad, called the next generation firewall. If it is used then we can protect our network from unknown threats. There is still 69% duty on firewalls. But its duty should be made absolutely nominal.

Last year, at least 910 cyber attacks were identified in Bangladesh.
