Saying about the blockchain technology, we can not disregard the Bitcoin as the first well known product running on this fantastic technology. After the Bitcoin, there are many more coins and tokens into the market. Other than Bitcoin the Ethereum is also well known and take intention to people.
Back for years, we know a kind of technology called internet, where we can express and duplicate data as much as we want, but there was no value gaining from those data. Until the Bitcoin comes thru the blockchain technology, we cross some limitations and valueless duplications in our old-days-technology. Bitcoin stores of value, enable people to transfer the Value anonymously under the Decentralized concept.
The Ethereum is something different, although it runs on the blockchain technology and has the Value of Ether (ETH) as a currency just like Bitcoin (BTC). But the fundamental structures, ideas and flexiblilities of Ethereum supposed to be a real world innovation. Ethereum represents the Smart Contract ideas , applies to dApps and innovates the products in blockchain industry.
We should rather not to compare Bitcoin and Ethereum since they are different in the fundamental ideas.
