Tacloban is a city in the Philippines with over 250,000 inhabitants and, at one time, briefly served as the country's capital. Today, it is a modern urbanized city with investment prospects of nearly all kinds, from traditional to those governed by a decentralized economy based on Bitcoin Cash.

It is in this context that Paytaca comes into action. Paytaca is a modern startup with strong ambitions to create a Bitcoin Cash-based business ecosystem in Tacloban, thereby making it a smart city. The startup was founded by a group of visionaries, led by Dr. Joemar Taganna, a man who has long believed that it is possible to live solely using Bitcoin Cash.

In addition to providing a complete product infrastructure that allows citizens of Tacloban, as well as those from all over the Philippines and the world, to use the Paytaca Bitcoin Cash wallet and POS system, the mission is also to ensure that merchants join the Bitcoin Cash movement by accepting the currency in exchange for their products and services.

Their vision is to create a smart city in Tacloban where both Bitcoin Cash holders and merchants can enjoy stress-free payments of products and services just using BCH. After all, they are participating in a growing Bitcoin Cash adoption economy that is expanding worldwide and undoubtedly has much to offer to those willing to adopt it as a means of payment.

As an enterprise, Paytaca has been standing out as a pioneer in many Bitcoin Cash infrastructure fronts, such as the adoption of the Cashtokens protocol on their wallet, allowing users to enjoy the storage of these assets as well as interaction with dApps in the ecosystem.

Also, Paytaca was the pioneer in launching an initial browser extension, allowing decentralized Cashtokens markets, like Tapswap, to connect and interact with each other, thus providing users with an essential tool for the practical and stress-free use of the protocol.

The startup has also given rise to an NFT project that plays a fundamental role in helping the development of Paytaca, as well as the Cashtokens protocol itself, and thus conveying to the ecosystem that it is possible to use Bitcoin Cash in DeFi and that everyone can be included in it.

The Genesis of the Paytaca Project

Certainly, when creating Paytaca, the group of friends and colleagues had in mind an inclusive project, where the vast majority of the population could undoubtedly assist in their way of life in an economy entirely based on the use of decentralized currencies as a means of payment.

The idea was put on the table in 2019, where the visionaries who still considered the project as an idea aimed to launch a product that relied less on physical money and focused more on virtual payment methods, thus making it a cashless society.

Bitcoin Cash was the clear choice since it perfectly aligned with the team's motto, "your money under your control," and from there, the startup has only been achieving success in various aspects of development within the decentralized Bitcoin Cash ecosystem.

I believe their greatest success was driven by the time in which the world was living, the COVID-19 pandemic, which fueled the increasingly massive use of virtual payment methods and remote transactions. Paytaca established itself as a strong and capable provider to handle the growing flow of the Filipino population using Bitcoin Cash as a means of payment for various products and services. Here, one can give the example of the large Filipino community on platforms like read.cash or noise.cash, earning Bitcoin Cash for their content on the platforms and using it to pay for various products during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A few years later, in 2022, Paytaca launched the first vending machine in the Philippines, allowing users to purchase snacks and pay using the currency, an innovation never seen before in the territory, marking a national and global milestone. Tourists can also use the machine and pay with Bitcoin Cash. This step was the first example of how the team intends to create a cashless society in Tacloban, and there is still much work ahead.

Enlisted Merchants and Funding.

Obviously, Paytaca's work was just beginning when they launched the Bitcoin Cash Paytaca wallet and its derivatives, such as POS, as well as the Vending machine in Tacloban, but there is still a long way to go for the team to be at ease. After all, a lot of work is needed for the effective adoption of Bitcoin Cash in the Philippines.

Also, the next step was for the team to embark on a new path in the startup's roadmap, which also involves recruiting merchants to join the Paytaca network and thus enable people to use fiat currency less and rely increasingly on Bitcoin Cash for payments. And the campaign began in Tacloban!

The Paytaca team integrated Paytaca Maps, which is a tool that allows them to check merchants on the network who regularly accept Bitcoin Cash as a payment method. If they go more than 30 days without recording any payments, they will need to re-verify with the network.

So, next, we will check some businesses that are already on the Paytaca network and accept Bitcoin Cash as a payment method in Tacloban.

So, the businesses enlisted in the Paytaca network stand out, from pizzerias, hardware stores, restaurants, to luxurious spots around Tacloban that accept Bitcoin Cash as a means of payment.

Not long ago, the Paytaca team secured funding led by Bitcoin Cash community investors who believe in Bitcoin Cash's development in the Philippines and will greatly assist the team in promoting Bitcoin Cash adoption and creating more applications within the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem.

Conclusion: There is still much work to be done.

For a startup like Paytaca, taking the lead in Bitcoin Cash adoption in the Philippines and dedicated to the cause, there is certainly much yet to be accomplished. The team is composed of visionaries who believe in Bitcoin Cash as a reference currency for payments.

Paytaca has been creating products that nourish the domestic and international Bitcoin Cash ecosystem, ensuring they meet competitive global standards and enhance the Bitcoin Cash community. The local community is growing and increasingly adopting Bitcoin Cash as a payment method in more and more local businesses.

The Philippines has Paytaca at the forefront of the fight for Bitcoin Cash adoption as a payment method and is building a Smart City in Tacloban, contributing to a cashless society in the region. Bitcoin Cash works, and those living in Tacloban can verify this every day using the services provided by Paytaca.

Great question @btcfork😎 but we all know that the term "cashless" typically refers to a society where physical cash, such as paper money and coins, is used less frequently or not at all in favor of digital forms of payment. Bitcoin Cash is a digital form of payment, in a category of electronic cash system currency, so when I refer a "cashless" society I am talking about reducing reliance on traditional physical cash (fiat) and increasing use of the other "Cash" the Bitcoin one💪 in Tacloban. Good Day mate
