Read.cash is a content creation platform that allows artists, bloggers, developers, and freelancers of all kinds to share their creations and monetize their work by receiving Bitcoin Cash. The platform is more than just a blogging website - it also serves as a decentralized Bitcoin Cash wallet, with over 100,000 registered users.

Read.cash was initially a promising platform that contributed significantly to the growth and adoption of Bitcoin Cash. It attracted many new users who learned about the currency and earned some BCH for their content. However, two months ago, the platform stopped monetizing the work of content creators, causing many of them to leave for other platforms where they can contribute and receive something in return.

The decline of read.cash is alarming for the Bitcoin Cash community, as it was one of the best spaces for newcomers to learn about the currency and contribute to its ecosystem. Notorious figures in the community supported the read.cash fund, which rewarded users for creating content and promoting the use and adoption of the currency. This fund was crucial for powering transactions on the blockchain, creating usability for the network, and increasing its value.

Read.cash was also a hub for engagement and discussions among users. It was common to see thousands of comments and suggestions in the platform's golden years. Big names passed through the platform, and users felt that they were contributing to the growth of a community with a bright future.

The decline of read.cash has implications for the wider Bitcoin Cash ecosystem. Losing the platform means losing more than 100,000 wallets, which may become inactive in the Bitcoin Cash space. In contrast, other platforms such as Nostr and LN-based tipping services are growing and attracting users.

It's concerning that the Bitcoin Cash community is not speaking up about the decline of read.cash. The community needs a space to publish content and invite the external crypto community to try Bitcoin Cash. Losing read.cash will hinder the adoption and possible expansion of the currency.

The heroes of read.cash are the tippers, who contributed to the platform's success and exalted the name of Bitcoin Cash. The creator of the platform is also an ardent supporter of the currency and has done everything to ensure its success. Content creators have participated vigorously to spread the good news of Bitcoin Cash to the world.

The big question now is who will rescue read.cash? The decline of the platform is bad for Bitcoin Cash, and it needs a savior to revive and maintain its position as a crucial hub for the community. If no solution is found, the community will suffer, and the adoption of Bitcoin Cash could be slowed in the crypto space.

Why read.cash is important:

  • read.cash has a strong community of content creators and readers who are dedicated to the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem. The platform provides a space for these individuals to share their knowledge and experience, which helps to educate and inform the wider community about the benefits of BCH. This helps to build trust by providing valuable insights and perspectives that users may not find elsewhere.

  • The platform has a decentralized wallet, which means that users are in control of their own funds. This is a key feature of the BCH ecosystem, as it allows users to transact directly with one another without the need for intermediaries. By using a platform like read.cash, users can experience this firsthand and gain confidence in the security and reliability of BCH as a currency.

  • read.cash is a key platform for onboarding new users to the BCH ecosystem. By providing a space where users can earn BCH for creating content, the platform incentivizes people to learn more about the currency and become active participants in the community. This helps to build trust by demonstrating the real-world applications of BCH and showing users that it is a viable currency for everyday transactions.

  • The platform has a long history of supporting content creators and providing them with a means to monetize their work. This has helped to build a strong community of users who are dedicated to the BCH ecosystem and invested in its success. By supporting these users, read.cash helps to build trust in the currency by showing that it has a strong and engaged community of users.

Overall, read.cash is an important platform for building trust in the BCH ecosystem. It provides a space for users to share their knowledge and experience, earn BCH, and learn more about the currency. By supporting this platform, the Bitcoin Cash community can demonstrate its commitment to building a strong, reliable, and valuable currency that can be used by people all over the world.

Additional thoughts:

It's clear that read.cash played a pivotal role in the growth of the Bitcoin Cash community, providing a platform for content creators to share their work and receive compensation in BCH. Without this incentive, it's possible that many creators will abandon the platform in search of greener pastures.

One potential solution could be for the Bitcoin Cash community to come together and fund a new content creation incentive program, perhaps in the form of a new platform or a grant program. This would not only provide a new outlet for creators to share their work and receive compensation, but it would also demonstrate the community's commitment to fostering the growth of the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem.

Another option could be for read.cash to explore alternative revenue streams, such as advertising or premium subscriptions. While this would require a significant overhaul of the platform, it could be a viable solution for maintaining the site's operations and compensating creators.

Ultimately, the fate of read.cash and the Bitcoin Cash community as a whole rests in the hands of its users. By advocating for the platform and actively supporting content creators, the community can help ensure that Bitcoin Cash continues to thrive and reach new heights.

It is fascinating and intrequing to read you make a plea for the importance and the effects on BCH adoption this platform had, and has, while those exact reasons are the root cause of the decision not to continue the Fund that fueled Rusty. The site failed in attracting and introducing much new people to BitCoin Cash, just barely reaching 100.000 users in total over the almost 3 years it exists. That may sound like a lot, but on the web and in crypto 100.000 users is barely enough to be included in statistics. Most of those 100.000 were either inactive, double accounts, banned scam or plagiorizer accounts or even just simply abandoned accounts who's owners forgot they ever created them. The active user count is only barely topping 1000, and that's taking the monthly active users, as the daily active user count is barely above 100.

So sorry but what you've been milking as an extra piece of income, and which many have been abusing shamelessly to squeeze out a few BitCoinCash from @marcdemesel's generously donated funds meant for introducing new people to BCH, might seem to be the most important website on the web but it in fact failed miserably. Noise.cash did better, for anyone but serious writers, by a factor of 10 almost and even that is considered a failure in relation to its contribution to adoption and increasing usage of BCH.

The BCH performence over the past year is even making many begin to doubt if the coin is capable of and worthy of the uphill strougle with the BTC whales and the butthurt people that still cannot accept that there were enough people that didn't agree with them (obeyed) to hardfork into a new coin back then!

Fair enough. It will be hard to see this become a ghost town as is one of the best places to write. At least I had some chat in here since last year😎

As for getting into ad revenue, I think read.cash is already halfway there. The system already have the "sponsor" section. I have observed that some authors have sponsors that promotes their websites outside read.cash. they may need to tweak it bit.

yeah. I've been quite busy with my teaching job. Thanks Same here, I still love this platform. I'm trying to find some ways to make use of the Sponsors block. However, we need more readers to entice sponsors coming from outside this platform.

I think I will post my tutorials on coding, robotics and others here and draw readers here. It's the only way I can think of to give back to this platform, for now.

I joined Rougee too but not quite active there yet.

I believe that the sponsor block for now only can come from people inside the platform as the website isn't accepting new signups
