Passionate about Bitcoin Cash, Yet Unable to Sustain My Writing Here: Here's Why
Good times those when Rusty still used to come around here and wonderfully reward each article on readcash.
He knew what he was doing, and content creators felt that their writing was valued, striving to give their best. The platform was intense and full of activity.
However, today it has become a ghost town where there's practically zero engagement and no one comes by even just to read the articles that creators put so much effort into, let alone leave a tip as an incentive. After all, writers, designers, or digital content creators, whether their work is in video, text, etc., need to feel cherished by their readers.
When this doesn't happen, many of them become mercenaries and prefer to abandon the platform to publish their material where it is appreciated.
Undoubtedly, readcash has always been a platform to extol the achievements of Bitcoin Cash and to welcome new users of the currency, initiating them to understand what the cryptocurrency really is, how it works, and how they can be part of the community.
In the times of the beloved Marc De Mesel and others, the platform was praised, and it was here that successful debates about Bitcoin Cash were published. Many great and excellent content creators have passed through this house, but little by little, they have been leaving because it doesn't justify the time they dedicate to the platform, after all, EVERYONE WHO PUBLISHES HERE comes with the intention of receiving at least some tip for their work.
Without this incentive, the platform is doomed to die.
Rusty was the great incentive of readcash, and everyone flooded the platform to see him pass by their content and throw those hefty tips. Social networks were full of people talking about readcash and creating a motion for Bitcoin Cash.
I was amazed by the marketing movement that each of those nostalgic readcash users spread through the media, and the platform flourished immensely.
Today, no one talks about readcash anymore, and even some forums like Reddit classify content from the platform as suspicious or even spam. Subreddits, even those that value Bitcoin Cash, also doubt the content of the platform, indicating that readcash is in full decline at the moment.
However, I also have to congratulate the great developments that the Bitcoin Cash community has achieved lately, especially with the implementation of decentralized finance with the deployment of Cashtokens, opening a new era in Bitcoin Cash.
With Cashtokens, it's now possible to have projects in decentralized finance without even needing an EVM network for it to happen. Projects like BCHBULL, Cauldron Dex, Tapswap are causing a stir on the main DeFi Bitcoin Cash network.
The adoption of Bitcoin Cash in the world also continues. Projects like Bitcoin Cash Argentina, Bitcoin Cash Nigeria, Taiwan Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Cash City, the Bitcoin Cash adoption movement in ST Kitts, and others, mirror that much has evolved since Bitcoin Cash has been on the market.
The possibility of using Bitcoin Cash today in decentralized finance reinforces its role as P2P money, giving the currency holders a broader way to apply Bitcoin Cash not only in a circular economy adopting it as a regular payment method in the acquisition of products and pay for services but also in investing in decentralized products that can benefit in various ways.
It's a shame that readotcash is in such a sorry state because it could help a lot in the marketing of Cashtokens and how this protocol could have a surprising boost with the participation of a more vibrant Bitcoin Cash community from readcash. Hats off to the Bitcoin Cash devs, they have been demonstrating their worth.
Hats off to Mathieu Geukens, Mainnet_Pat, Emergent_reasons, who tirelessly work so that the Bitcoin Cash network is solid and resilient, bringing projects like BCHBULL to the fore, or even bringing the native Cashtokens wallet. For example, Mainnet_Pat brought the TapSwap platform where tokens and non-fungible tokens are traded.
Thank the Bitcoin Cash Podcast for surprising the world with its episodes about what's happening in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem, and wish them strength to keep focused and continue the excellent work they are doing.
There are also things I don't commend, such as those who conducted Flipstarter campaigns with promises to create projects to benefit the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem but never delivered what they promised. These are the bad apples in Bitcoin Cash, highlighting also those who think they can dictate who is welcome or not in the community. They are the ones who spoil the community, after all, Bitcoin Cash needs each one of us.
I feel sad when deviant and wrong behavior of certain community members lead people who believe in Bitcoin Cash to distance themselves because there are those who think they have the voice to decide who deserves to be here and who doesn't. This behavior is shameful and does not align with what the community aspires to.
I also appeal to community members to avoid direct confrontations on Twitter with BTC Maxis or vigorous interactions in their posts to prove that Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin. This action is leading to many prominent community figures' accounts being reported and suspended on the platform.
Many are accused of spam and not complying with Twitter's TOS. Believe it, BTC Maxis even hire people for a "mass report" to have prominent Bitcoin Cash figures' accounts suspended from Twitter.
A suggestion: Bitcoin Cash needs a lot of marketing despite internal voices disagreeing with this way of spreading the word; it's a necessary action for the project to have a surprising boost. It's necessary that more "Real" Flipstarters be for marketing services since the technical side is very well handled.
And please, it's necessary to revive readotcash because the platform has a lot to offer and can help keep Bitcoin Cash on top. I am still here but not motivated to write as I used to unless the incentives change and the platform stops being a ghost town.
The year promises a lot for Bitcoin Cash, and I will always be supporting my community from behind the scenes. Go Bitcoin Cash!
Lets hope things pick up again here, its a great platform
