So, here's how the process goes:

After downloading the Metamask app from either, the PlayStore or the Apple store, the user needs to follow simple steps so that in a few minutes he is connected to the Bitcoin Cash smart chain.

Then just;

Go to settings within the Metamask wallet
Then click 'add network' and when the window opens, fill in the blanks with the following information,

Network name: 'SmartBCH
RPC URL: https://global.uat.cash, https://smartbch.fountainhead.cash/mainnet Or https://smartbch.greyh.at
CHAIN ID: 10000
Currency Symbol: BCH
Block Explorer URL: https://www.smartscan.cash or https://sonar.cash

After opening the Metamask wallet go and click on "settings".

After clicking the settings and opening a new window, slide down until find "Networks"

Clicking on the button, "Networks", you will see the existing chains and those that can still be customized and proceed by clicking on the "Custom Networks"

The next step is to fill in the blanks spaces with the information contained in the article and after that add the network by clicking on the "add" button & the Metamask wallet is already connected and ready to go with the SmartBCH side-chain.

This manual method of connecting the Metamask wallet to SmartBCH is the simplest there is, and it can also be used in other wallets that support EVM custom networks. Another great way to connect Metamask to smartBCH on Desktop, is to go to Marketcap.cash and on the top right corner click on the button "add SmartBCH" to get access to the side-chain.
