BitcoinCash.Org: An Invaluable Resource for BCH, Requiring Removal or Updates On the Main Page

I remember my early days in the community, when I was still "newbie" and learning the basics concepts of Bitcoin Cash the website Bitcoincash.org was, and continue to be a good 'teacher'. After all, it offers many tools, services, exchanges, and other resources that help to understand and stay updated about the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem as whole, providing necessary information for starters and the ones willing to learn a little bit more about the ecosystem. It is a website that contains vital information about Bitcoin Cash!

However, besides the information about the currency itself, the resource undoubtedly needs constant updates as there are several projects, services, or even exchanges right now that are no longer operational or urgently need updates to keep up the development on BCH that still be displayed on the main BitcoinCash.org web page.

In today's article, we will look at some of these "outdated" projects that still present on the BitcoinCash.org website, starting with the Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP), which did not succeed (unfortunately) in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem and needs to make way up for CashTokens. This makes all sense as CashTokens is the latest trend on Bitcoin Cash, allowing DeFi and will undoubtedly have more projects being developed on it. It deserves to be featured on the BitcoinCash.org page.

Some services, like Coingigs, no longer function and their Twitter shows no updates since 2021. When we open their web page, it simply does not respond and shows a blank page, indicating that it is no longer operational or that work needs to be done. Lazyfox.io is practically dead, with its last task being three years ago. It was a good service that paid users in Bitcoin Cash for completing certain tasks, so it should make room for other functional projects.

Noise.Cash is obsolete, and the platform has been upgraded to noise.app, so it should be removed from the BitcoinCash.org page. For example, CashShuffle has not had an update on its page since 2019. acceptbitcoin.cash is another good project, but its services are not up to date, and the webpage itself has not been updated since 2020.

There are also exchanges like Juungle, which used to be a platform for trading NFTs on SLP but is no longer functional and should definitely be removed from the BitcoinCash.org page. LocalCryptos closed in October 2022, the Evercoin website shows a connection error, and Korbit denied access to its website for my country, at least.

Many of the SmartBCH projects, for example, have been abandoned or are in a semi-abandoned state (if we can use that term), such as Goblins.cash, where the page shows nothing when accessed, and Marketcap.cash, which is no longer functional. Hop.Cash has definitely shut down due to issues with Coinflex and all the drama surrounding the exchange, which somehow greatly hindered the development of the sidechain.

Why are updates important?

BitcoinCash.org is a necessary stop for everyone entering the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem, and it's crucial to have updated services, projects, and exchanges operating within the ecosystem. This way, visitors and researchers seeking information about Bitcoin Cash will be in tune with the latest happenings in the community. However, it's important to understand that BitcoinCash.org is a website maintained by volunteers who often work without compensation.

About a year ago, if I remember correctly, I helped translate some parts of BitcoinCash.org. into Portuguese, and Josh Elithorpe was conducting in that work. It was a good experience for me because I was helping the website reach Portuguese speakers.

Managing the platform space with recent projects that align with the current state of Bitcoin Cash and direct people to those specific pages is necessary. This allows users to make the most of Bitcoin Cash and stay informed about the latest developments in the ecosystem. For instance, it would be good to see more actual projects on the BitcoinCash.org homepage, such as BCHBULL, Unspent.Phi, Cashonize or even Cauldron DEX, Tapswap, emerald-dao, continue.cash and others that are running and are up to date on the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem.

Also, an important aspect to encourage the work of volunteers who maintain the website is to have a Bitcoin Cash address for donations. I noticed that this is not currently available on the BitcoinCash.Org website.

I hope that my article will help to update some projects or remove the ones that are taking up important space on BitcoinCash.org Website in order to make room for functional projects. What are your thoughts on today's article? Remember, your opinion is important, all for the development of Bitcoin Cash.
