Happy independence my beloved Nation.

Sixty-one years ago today, Nigeria gain her independence from the British colonial master. Today read cash celebrates Nigerian independence day, there is public holiday commemorating the day on which the nation got freedom from the British government. Three years after which it became a Republic, indicating it as the federal Republic of Nigeria. Mode of celebrating the nation independence... **Independence Day Parade** It has always been our culture On the morning of October 1st for the President of the Nation  Nigeria to have a live broadcast speech to address the citizens and declare the inauguration of the Independence Day celebrations. This is followed by the raising of the flag while the national anthem is being sang. A parade by the Nigerian armed forces follows, and finally the national cake is cut, just to commemorate the celebrations at the Presidential Villa ( given a name Aso rock).

From the broadcast this year there are assurance of a better tomorrow in every aspect. Some of the headlines of the broadcast are ·        Unity and risk behind diversity Lifting of twitter ban with conditions ·        Security ·        Food prices ·        Health: vaccination and fight against the pandemic Covid-19 ·        Economy improvement **Citizens way of celebrating their nations independence.** It’s a public holiday and people tends to celebrate with their families and friends. They wear clothes with green and white colours, and waving flags. Radio stations constantly play songs promoting oneness in the country. Parks and recreational centres even the beaches are filled with dance and activities marking the nation independence. Schools gives students breaks and take them out to important places in the country. It’s a joyous day for everyone in the country though in recent times it hasn’t been. However, it’s a day to remember the sacrifices of those who fought to gain our independence. Nigerians living in the country and overseas don’t joke with this day.

Every citizen of this nation really loves it and are passionate about the development of the country. We all defend our land and keep our hopes alive believing Nigeria will one day get there. Today’s celebration might be marred by events that happened last year and things going on all over the country. We cried out but it seems our tears weren’t noticed. We’ve called on God, the people we look up to as our messiah turns out to be our biggest mistakes. Vain promises upon promises, non fulfilled. Instead, it seems things are getting worse. Today marks the beginning of a new dawn in this nation. We are regaining our spot at the Top where we used to be. I hope we all can rise once again and say “Enough is Enough". But for today let’s celebrate our independence. Once again “Happy independence day Nigerians" I hope today spells the beginning of a new dawn for our country.
